A lot of advise needed!
Hi long time no see guys XD Boy do I need to update things.

I hope this post is allowed, if not I'll delete.

Basically I wanted to try out cosplaying ( http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Roark ) Roark from Pokemon D/P/Pt</a> but I'm having problems figuring out fabrics for his outfit, since I have no clue about fabrics whatsoever. It'd have to be for both the grey jacket and the grey combats.

Also, as the yellow on his combats and jacket appear shiny I was wondering if using yellow PVC fabric would do the trick?

Next problem I have is the boots, I've bought a pair of boots and was given advise about the red soles, but my boots appear navy in the light and black in the *slight* shadows. I'm not sure if I should spray paint them or not, or try to shine them black because they're not leather - I'm pretty sure that they are rubber. Nevertheless the black of the boots doesnt bother me too badly.

Last problem I swear. The wig. I've been given these 3 links but I'm worried about styling - the quality of the wigs etc. Any advise?

Perhaps I'll give any helpers a little present to show my gratitude

The last wig is far too short. I would be looking at a length similar to the first wig. In terms of styling it depends what you want to do with it. If you want to have it natural and fairly unstyled then I'd go for the first or second link. However, if you want to go for the spiked out back I would think about looking at fur-like wigs such as the Punky from Cosworx. You'll be able to spike it a lot easier and it will have a lot more volume than normal looking wigs will.

Hi there i dont know how much help i can be but i will trying my best to help.
Ok for the fabric i sujest a thick polyester cotton fabric or maybe a cotton drill as ever of these should have a good waight to it so it will fit and hang like a jacket should.
Adding a fin black lining fabric will help alot and give it the wait your after.

But i find when im struglying on a fabric chose, printing of a picture and taking it into my local fabric store will probly know whats best and will try there best to help.

For the yellow stripes on the sleves and body my sujestion is to use reflective tape or fabric which "ever" you find whats work best for you the jacket, as it look to me like its supose to be a high res jacket so reflective tape would make scenes.

This is the sort of thing im talking about btw. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/REFLECTIVE-TAPE-YELLOW-50MM-X-10M-WEATHERPROOF-STRONG_W0QQitemZ300338171917QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CommercialVehicleParts_SM?hash=item45ed8cd00d&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

I dont know how much help this was to you, but i hope it help a little bit.

In hindsight of ayacon, if you do use cotton drill, make sure you use an overlocker stitch (like zigzag, see your sewing machine manual) because I dudn't and it frayed so much I kept getting holes and rips just by wearing my costume!
