Old, but I hadn't seen this bit before '"It represents shouting "UNION!" and joining together; kicking reason to the curb and doing the impossible; fighting the power, and piercing the heavens," he said'

Lmao

ROW ROW FIGHT DA POWAH!
Old and seen it before. Was so epic when I first saw it.
I wanna get one printed for myself. XD
How epic would it be if we had the flag changed to that?

However in in Soviet Russia, the power fight YOU!

Pfft. I love the fact that it doesn't say ANYTHING about it being from Guren Lagann! Do the Telegraph actually believe that it's an original design!?

Of course they do, they're the Daily Telegraph, not a specialist anime (or even Eastern cinema) magazine. They won't have done (or, possibly, known how to do) any deeper research than looking at a press release about the design, which probably also won't have said anything about Gurren Lagann unless the 2chan user who submitted it mentioned it in the first place.

"Many came from Japan, where our competition sparked a national craze after it was picked up by a popular online forum... The dragon itself was inspired by a Japanese anime television series."

They know, they're just toning down the article for those who don't understand.
