Hi everyone!

For those of you who haven't yet heard (from my Deviantart LOL) there is now going to be a Steampunk panel being run by your's truly and Leadmill at Fuyucon in October! We were approached lately and asked if we would consider doing so by a committee member. Of course, we agreed and it's now looking like we shall be carrying out a Steampunk panel in the afternoon on the Sunday! Hopefully many of you shall be there!

So, my question is this;
What kind of things would you like us to talk about if we do indeed get this panel? We obviously have some ideas already, but since this will be run for...well, you guys really, we would like to know what you would like explained. We will almost certainly be having a question and answer section, but for the main body, what kind of things would you like to know?

Well, I'm probably gonna sound like a fool but what is Steampunk exactly? From what I've seen it looks pretty awesome, but that's all I have to go on xDDD

Maybe talks about specific steampunk stories/anime/films?

A History of Steampunk

How to classify something as Steampunk or not.

Overview of Steampunk dress.. different types of costume and outfit components.

I can't wait for Fuyu now, this sounds fabulous!

Oh wow this sounds really interesting, I'll defiently be coming ^_^ Urmm I think maybe help on how to design a character, or tips and tricks on creating your own Steampunk outfit. I can't wait though

Oh yes Sean, some of the things already mentioned would be nice to hear about! (Though whether I make the panel or not will be mainly costume-deciding and whether it will accomodate my wings in the theatre XD)

I'd like to hear a little bit about various elements that make something "Steampunk", as it has lots of different interpretations. I mean all most people know is airships, and that's fine for the most part, but I'd like to know a little more about what appears in steampunk and why it does.

Also, maybe you could mention specific shows that are based on steampunk or have steampunk elements?

Also I'd like to know about how people come up with concepts for their steampunk costumes and how they fit it into the theme (if that makes sense).

Mainly panels are built on questions and I'm sure that there will be a lot that run through peoples' minds during the panel so don't worry!! Good luck!

Ah, now that is an age-old debate! But I can definitely talk about my personal interpretation and explain what is present throughout Steapunk, the common factors as it were. That's definitely a good idea!

That is definitely going to be there! Movies, games and animé/manga with a Steampunk aesthetic ^_^

That much can be explained based on our costumes alone as we cannot speak for others but I think that is also a good idea!

Oh don't worry. We can EASILY fill the time, I just want to make sure that what we cover is what people actually want rather than just us waffling LMAO

Will there be any steampunk cosplaying happening at the panel? Or will it be more of an informational presentation to spread awareness?

For the presentation you could fit in an explanation of the design eras where steampunk styling starts and ends historically, different walks of life to base a character and also perhaps tips on where to find or make accessories for making a steampunk cosplay.

Also maybe something on story writing, what constitutes a good steampunk setting for a story, both timeline and cultural wise. Also some artwork examples on how to draw up a setting, inspiration for airships and other such machinery.

Of course there will be Steampunk costuming. In fact, I think part of the presentation will be us being in character, as a lot of Steampunk is about creating and acting as your persona.

I would do that with the history of Steampunk stuff for sure!

Storywriting might be interesting, but we'll see how the rest of it goes! Thank you for those Jeff!
