Ice Ice Baby-Shiva Cosplay Help
Ok people! I was wondering if you guys would be able to give me some much needed advice on my Shiva cosplay, it's still in it's planning stages but I'm now stuck on one thing and one thing only.

I'll be blunt here, Shiva has ice over her left breasticale (bad joke..yah) And I don't have a CLUE how I'm meant to do it @_@

Someone suggested silicone but there's 2 problems with that.

1. It takes 42 hours to not be dangerous to touch and I can't afford a mannequin to put it on while it gets sculped.

2. It won't adhere to the bodywith spirit gum....

So any suggestions would be VERY Helpful!

Thanks!

Personally I would just treat it like armour. Get some plastazote or craft foam, build it up over a bra and then just paint it in a super cool (lol pun) way.

It depends on if you want it to be opaque ice, or solid white ice and your budget for her. If you wanted it frosted or white I'd say go with Wonder Flex, get a foam 'cast' of your bust then shape the Wonder Flex around it (Around the foam cast, not your actual breast...Wonder Flex gets hot. XD), cover said Wonder Flex in friendly plastic and then you can add pearlescent(sp? o_O) white paint to it for a frosty shimmery effect.

I do not recommend fiberglass. Ever. Just thought i'd say that if you ever thought of using it. Its horrible. I've worked with it when my dad was fixing his car once and it is nasty. And the resin and mat...it sticks...to EVERYTHING. It sticks like a sticky thing in a sticky room on national sticky day. Plus, breathe it in, or get it in any mucous membranes and its a trip to A&E. I do not advise using it unless you know how to use the bugger. D8

The other method I can think of, which MIGHT give you more options by way of frosted almost CLEAR ice would be friendly plastic on its own. You can buy it in pellet form which can be used to cover armor when put in hot water, OR buy it in sticks/sheets, which can be heated and molded together/into shape like Wonder Flex. Friendly plastic also comes in a much wider shade range than Wonder Flex which is er...white. XD

The pellets can also be used to make armor/other things as well, which can be seen here:
http://www.creatrope.com/blog/make/friendly-plastic-shapelock-tools/

This shows someone using pellet form Friendly plastic to make a toy wrench with some pretty good results. The fact that it turns an opaque white would look good for ice I think. Not totally clear, but not completely white either.

You can buy the pellets here:

expensive, but I don't think you'd use a whole tub, and if you plan on doing Shiva more than once its a good investment.

As for attaching it, depending on how heavy it is, you could stick it onto your skin with adhesive, but it would require a lot, or if you're using a body suit, add some loops at the back and use a white belt, incorporating the belt into your design, or add some big press studs to it and your body suit. A belt would be studier though.

I think a cool idea would be getting a clear smooth surface you dont mind getting messed up, I would actually suggest making the frost with PVA glue and maybe getting something like bath salts (Or something grainy like it* and sprinkling it on the glue and letting it dry.

Could either do one big sheet or try and control the glue into little shapes. You could then stick the bits onto one of those strapless bras or a cup and stick it on using that double sided sticky tape stuff. (I actually asked about different types of sticky tape on the forums, just look around and you can see what others will suggest with it.

I dunno wither this idea works or not since I just thought it up. But ya. XD Could also add blue food colouring to it a tint or so.
