Okay, I ordered my Seras Victoria Wig From Cosworx and like any good cosplayer should, the moment it arrived I immediately pinned up my hair and took photos!

Looking at these photos, though, I noticed something which bothered me.. the wig looks rather thin Theres pictures of it from the front and back at the costume page here: http://www.cosplayisland.com/costume/view/6853

I was just wondering if there is anything I can do thats fairly simple to make it look less.. well, thin!

Also, when I put my hair up for wig wearing, I tend to just use bucketloads of bobbypins to get it all against my head.. is there a better way? I know there's bound to be! Or even if there's a tutorial etc you can link me, that'd be great ^^,

Oh! And as a PPS, I have this wierd hair under my fringe, I call it my 'baby hair' or 'baby fringe'... it's really wispy and thin but only a couple of centimetres long, any tips on how to hold that back while the wig's on, too?

Can't help you on making the wig look thicker, but this bit:

Are you wearing a wig cap when you put your wigs on? What I usually do is to tie my hair back in a mid-to-high ponytail, then lean over and scoop it all up into a wig cap, then stand up straight to adjust it and fix it in place with a few well-positioned bobby pins. That'll hold everything flat and in place without needing quite so many pins!

If you get a light-coloured wig cap, too, it might help to make the wig mesh less noticeable on your Seras wig.

You could pay someone to put more weft's in, or look up a tutorial to do it yourself?

But yes, wig cap is the easiest and best way to sort out your hair. you can even make one from some tights. As for your baby hair, pin it down and spray the hell out of it, or you might find hair gell is more effective if it wont pin down.

I small slide clip at the front of the wig might help too? Thats what ill be sewing in fo quistis

I have rather long hair (past my boobs these days) what I do is:

plait my hair in two pigtails, using one of those little plastic hair bands at the end of each (as they are not bulky at all) then cross each one over my head and pin. So for example the right pigtail goes round the base of my crown past my left ear and pins to the right hand side of my forehead, then repeat with the left. (I also have to pin my fringe back. I just use a couple of those snap faster clips at the end of each pigtail, then maybe the odd one at the side, which is more than enough. I then grap some gel (I'm currently using manga hair) and gel the crap out of the hair line, front back and sides! Then I throw a wig cap over it and voila!

As for the thin back of the wig, can you try and re-style a little, to maybe cover the wig cap. Either that or grab some matching wefts and sew them in at the back.

HI Fables hun! I'm sorry to hear your wig is thin >__< Everyone gets a bogey once in a while I guess.

My hair isn't long enough to braid or anything, so I use lots of bobby pins to twist it up on the side of my head, probably the same way you do, but I also wear a wig cap when I can underneath my wig. I can highly recommend this! It really helps, and also makes it more comfortable in my opinion. For the baby hairs, have you tried to comb them bac against your head with gel or hairspray? Also, you can get tiny little snap/wig clips that you can sew into the front of your wig to keep it in place. With the thinness though, you can't do anything about it but faff around with it until it lays properly, or sew in some more wefts or glue hair into the balder areas. Hopefully a combination of what everyone's suggested will put things right for you ><

That's pretty amazing, I might have to try something similar next time I wear a wig. My hair's down to the top of my bum so usually I just bunch it all up at the back and put a wig cap over it but it has a tendancy to bulge out at that back especially towards the end of the day when my hair has kind of fallen back more inside the wig. Thankfully for Sephi-cosplay the wig is very long so it hides it but I think your advise would help stop the "bulge"

I actually have thick butt length hair but don't really do anything fancy to keep it up in a wig!

I tie it up in a loose ponytail with a loop near the lower part of my head then I wrap it around the back of my head -loosely- and sometimes if it's misbehaving I add on a few grips in my hair and then pull over a wig cap [Although really I think I need two, need to buy another though...] and that's when I mainly attack it with grips.

Because I wrap it loosely around my head there's hardly a bulge. I don't know if it works for other people but it works for me ^^;

As for baby hair I have the same problem. I either put up with it if the wig has a fringe or if it doesn't then I make sure it's under the wig cap and secure it with grips so that it doesn't come out. I usually pull the wig cap from my eyebrows then slide it back which should pull the fringe and baby hairs back with it : D

Another method for tackling hair under wigs are pincurls. Unfortunately since I have so much hair I lose patience and the method ends up failing for me. I'm sure it will help for others though ^^; The idea of pincurls is that it helps secure the wig soooo it may help for you~
