Eyebrows for Cosplay
This may seem rather a wierd question but if, like me you have dark eyebrows, what would be better to lighten the eyebrows to a blonde colour, or the same coloured eyebrows that are light??

I would like to know as Penelo and some of my other cosplays have lighter eyebrows than myself... thankyou for your time

This is a problem I've had because I'm Asian so have black eyebrows.

Firstly, pluck it thin. I know you'll want to keep those brows but pluck is as thin as you'll let them be and then apply foundation over them. Once the foundation has covered them (not too thickly) get a colour pencil that you want and go over it carefully. I've only had to change mine from black to brown, I wouldn't know about blonde sorry.

You could try the acylic paint method

You just need PVA glue, acrylic paint and a thin brush

there's a tutorial here; http://www.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=152632

I've seen people turn their eyebrows blonde using this method, and it works really well.

Odd-One-Out gave a great tip, it's quick and easy, but also remember that you don't have to worry about going as light as blonde, as eyebrows are usually a couple of shades darker than hair, anyway. You could easily get away with mid to light brown eyebrows, it will look more natural =)

no, you don't always need to lighten them,
I have blonde hair and dark eyebrows naturaly

As long as they are neatly groomed you will be able to get away with not changing the colour.

I cosplayed Princess Zelda but since she has a more Asian look in Twiligt Princess I left my eyebrows. I have blackish eyebrows. But for Fran I made them entirely white! I find if you can get a pressed powder eyeshadow or foundation in a colour that you want you can mix in a little water and then paint in layers over your own eyebrows. It works for me. But I haven't tried doing a natural hair colour yet like blonde ><

you dont really need to change your eyerbow colour really if the hair is a natural colour like blonde or brown as i think they do tend to blend together lol

its just hair colours like red blue or green that you want to change i think XD

This is true for most people...however there are us unfortunate ones who possess very dark, wild eyebrows which no amount of waxing will even control...

*ahem*

Lest to say I have to make mine blond for blonde characters else it is VERY noticable. XD I just use a stick foundation and that actually works fine as long as nobody gets really up close! XD I'm yet to experiment with any odd colours but will have to later this year...i'll be trying every technique I find till I get one to work. I did try the PVA one but that didn't work on mine. -_-;; Maybe i'll try EVEN MORE pva on them. XDD
