Colouring Feathers
i need to change the tips of my white feathers to slightly blue but cleverly forgot that feathers are waterproof....watercolour wasn't the answer

does anyone know how i can colour them? i really the colour the gradually fade rather than be a block of colour.

I'd prefer not to have to use Sharpies (because i cba going all the way back to town for a half inch felt tip XD)and they would make it diffiuclt to gain the fading out effect

Silk paints look really nice on feathers, you can get that soft watercolour look.

Perhaps fabric spray?
It was suggested by my local craft store, when I asked how best to gradient colour some feathers.

i know this one!!! when i did my firey wings i used dye.

if you want them all one colour the just dye them in a flat pot. but dont use too much water otherwise they go pale.

for my gradiant feather i used a tye dye set. and brushed on the colour. so i had orange feathers with red tips. its the best way.
