hehe, probably still a bit early for most of the people here. I'm guessing they're all stressed out about the May expo at the moment, most of them won't think about the october one before the may one has passed.

Anyways, good thing you're thinking about cosplay already! Means you'll have plenty of time to work on it.
I'm going to the october one too, but I haven't decided on cosplay yet. Though one of them will probably be C. Viper from Street Fighter IV.

There's always a big cosplay competition on the expo, but if you want to participate then make sure you apply ahead of the event. Check the forums to see how they organize the whole ordeal.

As YamatoMoku said, I'm coming as Sai from Naruto, and I know everyones like OMG over the May expo, but we decided to recently go to it, and decided on our outfits, but decided we'd rather give ourselves the time inbetween now and October.
But it is our first expo and we're mega excited about the whole thing, Just wondering about the whole competition element, does your outfit have to be absolutely perfect to sort of go for it, or is it like a laugh?

If your looking to commission there's one on ebay but it's expensive and looks crap in my opinion lol LimeBarb take commissions but can be pricey. If you check cosplay.com marketplace there might be someone there who can make it for you.

Or have you thought about making it yourself?

for the masquerade there aren't any specifications except that the cosplay can not be bought to be entered and it's not allowed to have been entered into a competition before.
other than that it's whatever you like really. within different categories (ie: original design. etc). but to win anything you'll really have to be as accurate as possible. but there are people that go just to perform skits and to make the audience laugh too.

I'm looking forward to both of them, despite the fact that Elrond's armour is going to KILL me. >>;; I still haven't quite figured out how to do his hair either.

I'm also going to be filming a documentary for my course though, so I might end up wearing the Tomoyo I'm going to make for that for some of the day (and the evening, whatever's on then).

If there are any Naruto (shipuuden) and sakura (shipuuden) cosplayers coming, because me and rawrr going as Sai and yamato maybe we can do a Team 7 Cosplay scene : D
