Urgent wig help needed
Hey guys I need help sorting out my wig for my Expo costume.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d40/konoha_ice_climber/stuff/OVAClaus.jpg

I'm not really sure about what would be the best length to buy. It has some bangs to it and a small ponytail low down.

I was thinking something like this one:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=250408545479

I'm not really 100% on anything as this would be my first wig in 4 years of cosplay (I used my own hair alot.).

That one is going to be far too short by the looks of it. You'll struggle to get the tail out of that really. I would look at something like this instead:
http://cgi.ebay.com/D-GRAY-MAN-ALLEN-WALKER-medium-SILVER-GREY-wig-cosplay_W0QQitemZ310138363997QQihZ021QQcategoryZ60188QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1713.m153.l1262

A little more expensive but definitely worth it.
I'd say the first one would be my personal favourite over all.

Thanks. Do you know how quickly that seller delivers?

Just wondering do you think this on would work?

They take about two weeks on average. Obviously if it's delayed then it can take longer but you can't really do anything about our postal service.

I'm not a fan of the layers as looking at the ref images his hair is all one length but that should work too.

I have that wig... it's not as long as it looks so you wouldn't be able to get a ponytail out of it X_x Then again I have super long hair shoved under the wig but it's still not AS long as it looks in the picture... I think it's slightly misleading because it's on a wig head and wig heads generally have smaller heads than we do therefore it looks longer X_x; [It feels nice though lol!]

And Cosplay Wig for me sent the item to me in 5 days I think!! It's weird, I always get packages from HK and China within 5 days haha! [Apart from odd occasions when it takes 1-2 weeks... but otherwise it's usually quick for me!]

Well the wig finally came today.

I'm a little unsure of where to begin. I think some of it would have to brought forward to make the bangs and the pointed part at the front seems easy enough.

How much should it be split, and would I just need to tie the back?

It'll be nice and easy to section thanks to the pieces at the front and his ears.
You want to find the ear pieces on the wig (it's the corner on each side that shape the wig behind the ears) once you have those section the hair so the split is over the back of the ear pieces before it slopes down behind the ear.

Anything behind that you put into the tail.

Use the hair glue stuff I use on my hair and then blow dry it on a high heat, I did that on my noctis wig the back was spikey for like a week after i did that, glue+heat=win?

I can pick you up a pot next time i go in there if you want! its like a tenner i think :3

I dont think you have to worry about it coming loose if you've PVA. Really a strong hairspray would of worked just fine, especially with a simple style like Rinoa's.

PVA will hold fantastically, I wouldn't expect you'd need to put any more on. ^^ One thing to look out for is bending it when transporting it, bits styled with PVA are a sod to get kinks out of if you've used a lot of glue. Like Demented said, hairspray will work fine for a nice simple style like that. The other things you can use include hair glue and putty like Got2B glued and Fructis Manga Head. Just remember not to use too much of any product or it becomes more difficult to style. ^^

Well here's my start on the styling.

Nothing held with spray or gel yet. It just took me ages to tie the back. What do you think?

Looking good, one thing though have you pinned the wig down so it's stretched out? Looking at the back of the cap it seems very high up the head which might cause problems when you come to putting it on (a fully stretched wig for me will normally reach half way down the neck). Best thing you can do is to try it on. Tie up the pieces you want at the front to make sure you keep them separate incase it does come out of the tail.

No it wasn't pinned and when I tried it on the tie came off...

I don't have any pins I think.

If you don't have any pins the best way to do it is to style it on your head. If not it's nice and cheap to just buy a pack of dress making pins.
