fabric locator help
im sure we've all experienced this before. you really wanna make a costume, or something like that, but you have a hard time locating the exact fabric you need. some people, me incuded, live in areas without access to a lot of decent fabric shops. so i thought id make a thread we can all use to post fabric requests.

so, if you want to find a really special fabric, just post here, and if someone notices it in their travels, then they can let you know, and maybe even organise trade.

ill go first. in a few weeks, a friend of mine is having an oriental themed birthday party, and i wanna make a formal white and gold mandarin-collar shirt for it. im looking for a white/silver brocade or silk fabric, with silver or perhaps gold designs on it (nothing floral though...dragons would be nice). ive been all over Hull, and cant find any anywhere. ebay doesnt have much either that i can see. if anyone knows of anything like this, please let me know

Hey Fins!

I noticed they have a red silk oriental type fabric, decorated with Phoenixes and dragons, in Hobbycraft, which I know is a national chain. The fabric is elegant and stylish. Unsure where nearest one to Hull would be though!

Good luck in your search! Ouendan!

Tried this before- they don't have a steady source of stock as far as I know and they basically said it could be between a week and a couple months before they got what I needed in! I think checking back and forth is the best you can do when it comes to Boyes. Maybe nudging them every now and then.

As for Hobbycraft, I have only ever been in one when I was out of the city O__O
