Really enjoying it here so far, and everyone seems so friendly ^_^

Hiya!

Welcome to the site and stuff, seems you're already settling in fine!

Love your Lulu and Lust by the way, you seem to suit the "dark haired sex appeal" type character very well! ^__^

Hello, we met at Midlands.

Just wanted to say your costume for Londn Expo looked amazing from the photos I saw.

Heeey!!! 8D Welcome to Cosplay Island Efia =) I love your Lulu cosplay, it's totally epic :3 Can't wait to see all the future cosplays you do =D Hope you like Cosplay Island ^_^

Your Alexiel was absolutely stunning at Expo, I was so rushed and feeling pretty shy, but I wish I'd come up to tell you how nice it looked. I really like the stuff you make and can't wait to see what you do next.

^_^ Thank you everyone for such a warm welcome! I didn't realise so many people would recognise me ^_^'

Tak, next time we must definitely have a chat ^_^ Your Oogie Boogie was amazing, I laughed aloud with delight when I saw you up on stage, you were awesome ^_^

And PrincessMark, "dark haired sex-appeal" types, hmm? Didn't realise I had a running theme lol ^_^ But now I know, it's a good one! Yay ^_^

I'm planning Morrigan from Darkstalkers for the future, and possibly LadyDevimon from Digimon lol. I'd love to make a costume with a big, elaborate and pretty outfit ^_^ But have yet to decide on one that meets that criteria

Morrigan is a good choice but I would love to see you cosplay LadyDevimon just because I know you can do that costume justice.

Aw, thanks Aim ^_^ That's really encouraging to hear!

And Grayskull, thank you! We'll definitely see you there at the next event Hopefully we can chat more and catch up lots ^_^

Yes a chat is definitely in order next time.

And I LOVE both of your costume choices.

I don't think I've ever seen a Lady Devimon. So evil! Princess Mark was organising a bunch of people to do the original Digi-destined a few months back for an Expo. I hope it still happens.

There's a new digimon group being organised for May on the Expo forums, but... I'm just not 100% sure about joining it yet lol ^_^'

I'm had far more experience being a solo-cosplayer I guess, and groups can get awkward depending on the people in them and all the drama that can spark up because of it ^_^' I guess that's just my experience of groups though!

But I'm still definitely considering LadyDevimon I'm sure if PrincessMark wanted to organise a digidestined group again it'd be awesome!

I guess I've been really lucky as I've never had any drama from cosplaying in groups. But I tend to form groups with friends that I've met through cons. One person will pick a series, things then fall into place organisation wise and people you don't know, who know your friends get involved meaning you get to meet a bunch of new people in the process.

But I can completely understand the preference to cosplay alone so you can just completely focus. There's always a bit of chaos getting groups assembled and organised after all.

Efia! *glomps*

I love your cosplays! Especially your Alexial and Lulu cosplay! =D I always see you around the expos and you always look great in your costumes! x3
And I'm pretty lucky too because I haven't been caught up in group drama before... the only group cosplays I've done is with a few friends but not group cosplays with people I don't know... Though I've always wanted to do a group cosplay xD;

I can understand that feeling of awkwardness. I know I did a load of Solo costumes for ages because of it.

But I have found that cosplaying in a group of close friends is great fun. It helps when you have a very organised person sorting things out too, as it stops any "faffing".

I am hoping the Island will bring people like yourself closer together so that groups are a lot more fun and less awkward.

I do plan on doing a fun digidestined group, just as an excuse to have a good laugh at ourselves!

Would be cool to get some photos with you, and I second what Ami said... you should do Lady Devimon as you would do it great justice!

Well, we've been the focus of drama in groups before. It's good when you've got a group of close friends, but if one or two are friends while 7+ aren't...it's just awkward LOL

I was considering doing Beelzemon Blast Mode for the same event but was put off in a similar way.

Tis true, and I'm sure it would be so much more enjoyable in a group of friends, and other enthusiastic and (largely!) organised cosplayers! ^_^ But I find the people here on the Island to be more like that than those on other forums Everyone's so lovely ^_^

07 Nov 2007 - 18:54831
gruops are grate fun if you know the people in the group well or have talk to them befor hand,if you know the peole in the gruop well you can get ever one organized easly with out the dramatics.
also group photoshots look better most of the time as you have other peoples dressed up as simlar costumes.

I think I've only *ever* done one costume when not in a group, I've always managed to convince someone I know to cosplay from the same series as me.

The more people you get to know well, the easier it is for someone to suggest 'hey, I want to cosplay from this series' and you get lots of volunteers for various characters. And sorry yeah, this is a drama free zone I'm pretty sure that none of us here take anything too seriously.

Anyway, a very delayed 'Welcome' from me (despite chatting in pm's, they dont count ), I'm getting behind with these welcoming threads! (Good job everyone else seems to be on the ball!)

No, that's really good! And the cosplayers here seem to take the COSTUMES seriously, but the actual cosPLAYING as fun ^_^

Which is, in my opinion, perfect!

Heya! Good to see you About the groups thing ~ Kat you're lucky to always find someone to be in a group with, most of mine seem to fall through. Then again you and your friends all seem very dedicated. Efia, why not try making a group with just a few close friends and see how it goes?
