You should be able to cosplay who you want, wither your large, small, thin, tall. cosplaying is about having fun. And if People Can't see that and shout abuse at you, or post on your pics nasty comments then it's there Problem there the asses for doing it.

in all honesty i dont think weight should be a problem.
i think its more how you carry yourself!
you could have someone who is what you would consider a 'perfect size' in a cosplay as someone who is too fat/thin ... but it can often look so much better depending on how you feel wearing it!!
if your wearing something a bit...risky..and you walk around head low, checking how you look every five minutes (both in and out of cosplays) other people pick up the vibe and start to think..hmm thats a bit naff :/
my advice (if you can call it that) is wear something your comfortable with!! and if confidence is your problem look up some burlesque videos on youtube!! some of the 'sexiest' women have cures and a few extra pounds.. but they carry themselves well and with a sexy smile ;D

It doesnt matter what your body size is~ If your costume is good, that's the main thing ^^ Also, a lot of it is about confidence: if you dont feel happy in a costume, people can usually see it.
I do agree that it's a good idea to wear what suits you when making costumes. I've altered patterns and stuff to make costumes more 'me' ~ if it makes the costume a little innacurate, so be it.
