Cosplay App! [Suggestions needed]
Hello everyone!

My name is Anna. I am working as an intern in a mobile app company. Since I haven’t found any apps for Cosplay, I am suggesting the company to create a photo and video sharing app dedicated to the cosplay community. But before I suggest this, I would like to ask you guys whether you would be interested in this app.

Here is the main features of the app:
-Short video recording of 10-15 seconds
-Special effects and sound can be added to the video
-Photo and enhancement tools (such as eye color effect)
-Animated GIF images

The great thing about this app is that it is an entertaining and creative way to showcase short skits, customes and acting skills.
Short make-up tutorials can be created and fellow cosplayers can be inspired from each other.
Another great thing is that you can upload your creations instantly to this Cosplay social network or if preferred, to other social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter, tumblr etc.

It would be highly appreciated if you guys could help me to give some feedback on this. I would love to hear other features you would like to have on this app.

Thanks in advance

Actually kind of like this idea, but would raise just one issue; adult content.

Would you have safeguards in place to turn off adult content, or even just avoid allowing it at all? And how would you go about policing that?

I'd hate to see something so useful and potentially enjoyable become just another place for pervs to creep on cosplayers or for cosplayers with purely adult agendas to show too much of themselves, potentially, to kids.

Otherwise, like the concept!

Thank you so much for the response. I will look more into these issues and definitely try to limit adult content as you have suggested. Thanks for the advice

I think you could expand on the idea of having make up tutorials, why not be able to upload step by step slide show tutorials for entire outfits?

Why not also have a sort of "Group" feature like on facebook? For like if you're a part of a Digimon cosplay group for example you can upload pictures of your group and then everybody in that group is also credited for the picture, not sure entirely how it would work.

This sounds like a totally amazing idea.
As a suggestion why not try adding a social aspect to the app, say letting people who have the app see if there are any other cosplayers near them and be able to talk to them.

These are some great inputs! I really appreciate your time and I will take your thoughts into my consideration I think the social aspect will be a huge part of this app.
Do you guys like the idea of the editing features of this app? Or do you usually use Photoshop to edit your pictures?

Most people post pics as they find them online, it's not often one needs to edit beyond crop/rotate. If anything more needed doing I would use Photoshop. Having integration with Flickr or a basic 'download this image and upload it to my profile'option would be great.

I had an idea for a cosplay-based app.
Ironically I can't make it because I know nothing about apps and can't tell anyone about it for fear of having the idea stolen.

Procrastinate Now. Don't put it off!

how about a list of all the cosplay events or something in this way?

Yes, I support this 100% But before jumping to everything, please think everything through. I'd hate to see auch a wonderful idea fail

Yes, definitely think about a safe search or banning adult content. Keeping all pictures/videos safe and clean.

I'd be nice too to see some simple edit options when uploading videos/pictures. Simple stuff like rotate or crop and edits, maybe filters or blush stickers ^///^ no one can live without them

If you do allow comments, think about possibly banning swear words. Because you could get a flame account that's there to just hate on others. The same in PM if that's an option. You don't want any cyber bullying on the app. Maybe just suggesting a different source of communication, like leaving an email if the person really has something valuable to say.

I like the idea of videos of 10 to 15 seconds. That way it's not too long, and short videos are popular anyways. Just look at Vine XD

Maybe a rating system, or just plain 'like' on the pictures or videos

And yes. Gifs. I want them.

Just think everything through. Consider both sides of a situation. Ask yourself the 5 w's or whatever they're called. Just think it all through, and make sure you have a report option, in case something does go wrong
