Traveling with an 'above-average style' wig
If in wrong place feel free to move!

I'm curious for you fellow wig wearers of the community, When traveling around and wigs with pretty precise style, e.g. Axel from Kingdom hearts (just a shot in the dark haha) how do you transport said wigs around? for example train trips and so on?

CATS wigs are fairly easy to travel with as just turn them inside out as they naturally hold their style really well But what about other style? know if your using a plain wig you can pretty much tie them into loose plaits and stuff and then brush them out but ones that have intricate styles I wouldn't take to the idea of putting in an overfilled suitcase!

I know some are gonna say 'oh just use wig boxes' but what if you have more than one wig you need in a box? carry a handful of wig boxes while lugging around a huge suitcase?

Answers greatly appreciated!

my partner and I had a few pretty styled wigs for Kita this year and we ended up putting them in a hat box, it was roomy enough to fit a few of them in, and as long as they were laid gently on top of one another (and styled firmly enough to hold) they survived the trip rather well.

I've taken a wig head with me to cons before, both for transporting wigs and for touching things up afterwards. Sometimes it's handy to have something you can leave a wig on after styling if you're not planning on wearing it until the end of the weekend.

I'll admit though that usually I just chuck my wigs in the bottom of my bag and do my styling when I need to. I thankfully haven't had all that many complicated wigs to deal with yet xD

traveling to cons up and back

I get dressed , my wife does the make up, skull cap, wig with many hair grips, what seems like half a can of hair spray, more pins , out the door I go. I then doen't have to carry anything.
Its a whole new adventure

This is how I take my Yami Marik wig and believe me its a pain in the ass.
I use super strong tape to stick the neck of the head down and then tape the box up.

I make sure I know which way up it is and carefully carry it along.

It's a pain when you have a big con bag, a small bag, a prop that is breakable and then the big wig box. I don't know how I did it to be honest.

I also take fixing spray because even with the box being roughly 3 feet its still too small for the wig and the tips get pressed down.
