Wig found - thanks for the help!
Hi all,

I'm really struggling to find a wig for my Ahiru (from Princess Tutu) costume. I need a long (100cm ideally) straight wig with bangs in pumpkin/dark orange colour. That in itself isn't difficult to find. But, ideally, I'd be looking to buy a good number of matching wefts. I can't find a website that does wefts to match their orange wigs.

Any suggestions?

ETA:

Finally managed to find a wig and weft combination on Epic Cosplay Wigs, though the weft is out of stock. I've signed up to be emailed when it comes back in which hopefully won't be too long. In the meantime, if anyone else knows somewhere else please do let me know.

I know that cosplay.com has an option but I'm never buying from them again. Not worth the hastle!

You could consider buying two wigs and making your own wefts. All you need to do is basically unpick the scalp/hair net from the wig and you'll be left with full wefts all sewn at the top.

The other option which is a bit more time consuming is making your own wefts but cutting the wig. You cut it and then using a double needle (check they fit in your machine before attempting.)With the weft sandwiched between a piece of netting folded over, sew with a running stitch. There is a really good set of video tutorials on you tube for creating wefts in this manner.

Personally though I would opt for the first one of simply unpicking the wefts from the wig. It can be done whilst watching TV and as long as you don't cut through the top of the wefts it's a lot quicker than the second method.

And if in the future you will need something that matches that you should see how a comb over wig fits you. If I am not mistaken this would be a great choice for you.

Damnit Adolfo, if only I'd seen your post sooner! I just bought a different wig a half hour ago!
