I agree. It's not bad, but with the prices that places like expo charge for it, and with people buying SO many boxes, my mind boggles.

I do eat pocky from time to time, but everyone goes completely nuts over it, and I'm pretty sure that a large number of people just do it because it's Asian in origins and they perceive that it'll make them fit in better.

agreed, that said I went out with someone japanese for about a year and they couldnt get enough of english sweets ^.^ i suppose the juxtapose is exact

I do love the stawberry Pocky. Discovered it at a Collectormaina ages ago before I knew it was a Japanese snack. I can get it much cheaper in the China Town here in Manchester so I buy it and then take it with me to expos (if I remember to).

I did try the Mikado. Its nice. I do hope they bring out other flavours though. My local shop on the croner sells it.

I think I'm just addicted to pocky, mum mentioned I was acting like I was after I bugged her to take me to Sainsburies to get more Mikado pocky ._.; I ended up buying 5 boxes too, and ate one box in less than 15 minutes or so.

A friend at my last job went to a Chinese market and bought me LOADS... After finishing about 10 boxes (in 3 days) of them I was feeling a little ill... Only to find out that they were OVER A YEAR OUT OF DATE >_<


Dairy food poisening and projectile vomiting followed.

I have to admit this Pocky business befuddles me aswell, since growing up in France I used to eat Mikado all the time... When I saw Pocky in a manga I was like "Oh, Japanese have Mikado too!" ;D They also have more flavours, like the white chocolate and caramel ones that are yummy, I like them better than the weird strawberry or choco-banana Pocky >.> Do they sell them in england yet? I've only seen the plain chocolate ones~
