Pocky! XDDD
Yes! It is in Sainsburys! XDDD I've eaten too much and am hyper lol
basically it goes by the English name of Mikado and the chocolate is milk chocolate rather than plain chocolate but it's still pocky cause it's made by Glico 8D
I don't know about other supermarkets but I heard from my friends yesterday that one of them saw pocky in Sainsbury's and the other had seen a 'rip off' version in Tesco's (he didn't know Mikado and Pocky are the same thing and both made by the same company) it's still pretty new and costed about £1.20.

Also some good news for people who live in or around Norwich - there's a stall on Norwich market called Orient Express that sells chocolate, strawberry, milk and banana flavours for 80p a box :9 it's the same version that Tokyotoys sell XDDDD

Who needs eggs for easter when you can have pocky? XDDDDDD

Mikado pocky is damn good xD
They sell at a newsagents near mine 8D
*was surprised when my mums boyfriend brought it back xD*

Theres an Oriental Foodstore right down the road from me, and they sell a few different Pocky brands. Including a Thomas the Tank Engine brand of Pocky from Japan.

I still have the box at home on display (including the plastic bag inside the pocky was in - complete with trains) I will post pics when I get home.

it's about time Tesco's got some in, the amount of times i've been in there asking about it (i even went as far as buying chocolate spread and trying to get pretzil stick so i could make my own lol)
Is it just me or do you get more sticks in the mikado boxes than you do in regular pocky? I still miss green tea pocky tho (hopes kitacons dealers room will have some) I hope they bring out more flavours for mikado too XD Even though Mikado is slightly expensive, it's much cheaper to buy than getting it off the net, since they put postage and vat on it and stuff and some of us don't always have the cash to buy in bulk.

Thomas the tank engine pocky? sounds interesting XD

I wonder if they'll put adverts on tv for it sometime XD my friend showed me some of the original japanese pretz ad's on youtube and they're really funny she even did an impression of one yesterday while we ate the pocky she bought back.

Time to go to Sainsburys =D

The nearest place they sell branded Pocky to me is in an indoormarket a few towns down the road <3 First time I went there, I bought like 3 huge boxes XD

I noticed a few places near my home a few weeks ago that sold Mikado pocky. Lost count over how many boxes I had eaten since they started selling them.

I like pocky ^.^ lets get that straight, but its not mega awesome I think people mostly buy it as a japanese novelty and thats cool but its hard to get addicted to something thats kinda greasy, does anyone else get that when they eat it?

*total opinion here, just voicing to get more on track its 70p a box from our local chinese supermarket along with hello panda mmm milk flava*

mmmm hello panda.

those cute koala things are my personal favourite.

i don't find pocky greasey but i do think some people go a bit over the top on the "OMG OMG OMG"ing.
it's great and all but not THAT great.

Yaki soba sandwiches and cream puffs are better. >w<

and koala yummies and hello panda......

and Pokepachi......

Did anyone see the Mikado advert during Britains Got Talent last night? I was spazzing - yay for spreading the word! <3

12 Apr 2009 - 09:3112774
Pocky is nice and all but I think it's overrated. The novelty wears off after a couple of boxes, and for what you're getting it's a little overpriced, don't you think (Especially at expos!)?

That said, I did try Mikado and thought it was so much nicer than regular Pocky. The milk chocolate was so much nicer!

And Hello Panda = yum.

Pocky Pocky Pocky~~

I love green tea pocky XD I got the mousse one but only had enough cash for 1 box T^T (honey/milk and caramel are nice too)
I saw the advert a couple of minutes ago, it's kinda strange ^^;; I did tell my cousin about mikado and she was all "yeah my daughter picked some up in the corner shop and wanted me to buy them" XD I think the hype with pocky depends on the person. I'm unusually hyper about it because I love the stuff and find them really yummy (well, some of the flavours are, coffee was a bit ugh) but I don't always have the money to get them from the internet or at a con (sometimes they just don't have the flavours I like) but it's one of those "love it or hate it" things, for example most people i know love noodles or certain asian foods but i don't. I do find the mikado ones more yummy and addictive (except for one or two i had the other day where the biscuit was slightly burnt -_-) they remind me of a deluxe version that had the same chocolate and the stick was chocolate too.
I agree about the chocolate koala's XD it was a suprise to have an L cosplayer come up to me at ame07 and ask if i wanted a box for free ^^

EDIT: if anyones interested, here's the pretz ad my friend showed me ^^; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8k3yvXpseU

I saw an advert for mikado on tv last night!!! Involving a girl and a photocopier!!! Even my other half (who's not a pocky fan - crazy I know) was sitting there going OMG pocky!

I was amused to see the advert. I had to explain to my family (whom I have fed pocky before) what it was again though. *eyeroll*

I more or less got over pocky after my first couple of expos. It's tasty and a good snack, but not OMGSOURCEOFLIFE like some people make it out to be. I've been able to get it from my Student Union for the last couple of years as well, which makes it a lot less amazing. Sometimes I grab a pack on the way through to class. ^^

totaly in love with the mikado advert though.

that's fair enough, but some of us actually still enjoy it.

After chocolate covered pretzels were discontinued in my teens in the 90s this was the best I could get.

I didn't say that I didn't enjoy it. Just that it's (really) over rated.
