Ebay Horror Stories
I experienced something a bit mad when ordering a wig on ebay recently and I wanted to share it.
I thought that a thread where others can share similar experiences with buying stuff on ebay would be a good idea so we can all have a good giggle

Anyways like I said I recently ordered a wig on ebay (the seller was from China) however when I received the product it wasn't the wig I ordered. It wasn't even a wig. It wasn't even cosplay related...

It was this beauty-

You can't really see on the picture but inside the jewels are dead Bees.

Nice.

I can't even get mad about this because it's so bloody random I just keep cry-laughing :'

I've contacted the seller but not heard back yet. I'll update this story as it progresses!
......
So anyone else had mad stuff like this happen on ebay?

I remember hearing a few years ago about there being dead animals inside things on sale. Just... wow.

Luckily the only eBay horror I've had was a Kakashi wig which didn't look like the image in the listing at all (this was my first ever cosplay wig purchase, I know now to be careful). And then a Kotetsu wig which was more of a purple shade (the character's hair is dark brown!)

That bee story... Is really quite horrifying hahaha...
I'm terrified of all bugs and the like so I would not have been best pleased XD;;;

Hope you get something out of it!! I don't really have any stories to share unfortunately v.v

Hahahaha! That really is so random. Yeah definitely make sure you get your money back!

I've actually had mostly good experiences. Worst I got was buying feathers for a project and getting the wrong colour.

Well that's definitely unusual... XD
My most amusing e-bay experience was way back when I ordered my L wig. Instead of what I ordered I received a thin silver one. When I contacted the seller they said that I could keep it as a gift and that they would now post the L wig to me. It arrived and all was good... Then shortly afterwards a second package arrived - it turned out to be a second L wig! So I accidentally ended up with 3 wigs for the price of 1 =D The silver one did come in handy for a later cosplay when I needed one at short notice for Zero Kiryuu, though I have since replaced it for a better one due to it being too thin and it not keeping it's shape properly.

My worst experience was commissioning Zero's school uniform. They made the waistcoat too small so I had to buy extra fabric and have it altered up town. And the trousers were far too big. I have wide hips so it seemed they thought that the lower half of my legs must have been wide as well. It was really silly and a pain to get a partial refund.

It could have been worse – they could have been live bees!

One of my worst experiences was years ago when I bought a DS when it came I noticed that the package had been opened and was re-stapled with just an empty case inside. When I emailed the seller about they basically said it wasn't their fault - bare in mind the seller packed it in just a normal type envelope and wrote on the front what it was -_-

Bee bracelet update!

I heard back, the seller said they will give me a full refund if I send back the bracelet. (I have to pay the postage- TO CHINA) and I still wont get the wig I originally wanted

Gonna have to find one from a UK seller now because I don't wanna risk getting another one from a foreign country and it not arriving in time for expo!

Sometimes if you open an Ebay resolution case, Ebay will cover the return postage

Which brings me to my horror story - my partner ordered a larp-safe (so foam and rubber and stuff) master sword for a cosplay from Germany. It cost about £50 but they had good reviews. When it arrived the sword had just basically been dumped in a cardboard box padded with more cardboard, so the who thing had huge gouges in the outer layer, the paint was peeling, etc. The seller refused to admit that they packaged it like that, and said that we had left it too late to complain (we didn't manage to pick up the parcel until 2 week after it had been dispatched), etc, etc, and basically claimed we had damaged the sword ourselves. The whole thing went on for about two months, after which Ebay just sent us a return postage label and froze the seller's account till we got our money back. I just couldn't believe that anyone who sell larp weapons would package their stuff so that it's inevitably damaged -_-

Oh, and of all the stuff I've ordered from China this year (wigs, leggings, etc) none of it has arrived. I've had a refund each time but I'm really confused as to why it's happening... here's hoping that stuff starts arriving OK as I've got more parcels from China due soon ^_^'

Don't pay the return postage, just demand a refund or open a dispute with paypal. You shouldn't have to return it if they sent you the wrong thing.
