Business Cards
Haha. Well.

I've thought about making "Business cards" to take to conventions.

The reason is simply because no one ever carries a pen and paper, and I don't intend on carrying my phone with me - so if you meet someone new and want to stay in touch, if you tell each other your names the chances are you will forget by the time you reach a computer.

So I thought just a few cards with a picture of the cosplay (or character) with a few contact details (that you don't mind being public, of course).

What do people think?
Just calling them business cards sounds so egotistical and I'm a bit worried that people will scoff - but at the same time it seems like the best idea to stay in touch (They're so tiny and easy to carry!)

Lots of people already do it =) Especially photographers, for somewhat obvious reasons. So I wouldn't worry about getting some for yourself, if you want to be able to stay in touch with people.

"Cosplay cards" are totally a thing that exists.

A recognisible picture, some sort of contact detail (website, Facebook, email, CI profile, etc) and a space to write a quick note, makes sense. Its something I keep thinking about but not actually getting around to.

You can also give them to people who take your picture so they can contact you when they upload them

Alot of cosplayers and photographers I know use them . they are very handy, especially when you don't what to risk losing/damaging your phone.

I use moo.com for mine they're not cheap but are very well printed on good quality high gsm (thick) card.

I usually call them contact cards as they're not for business purposes.

Ohhh yay!

I was really worried that I'd get them out and it'd just offend people xD

I'll have to google some and see what they look like :3

I love cosplay cards! I got some printed before I went to World Cosplay Summit last year - a lot of international cosplayers carry them and it was a great way to connect with people. I also get mine from Moo, they're great quality and you can have lots of unique designs. Mine have different photos on the front and my details on the back (website, awards, facebook page, twitter, phone number and email). And they're SO useful if you want people to send you photos of your costumes without having to exchange numbers or emails!

Lots of cards are really different - some are full images, some I have are really minimalistic and some are really over the top decorative (I received some printed on glitter card) XD I really hope they catch on some more over here, I love collecting them!

A while back I made a blog post with a photo of some of the cards I have (and some of mine thrown in too)

You'll never know who you'll meet and its a quick and easy way to make sure for at least one of you to get contact details. There will be times where you will wish to stay in touch with someone after the con so I find they will be a useful thing for anyone to consider

I made some contact cards for my Deadman Wonderland cosplay a few years ago, some cast cards with some of my details in the back. Was very fun!

Personally I'd worry about the same thing to be honest ( then again I'm really bad at over-thinking things ) ^^" Though last year I was given some contact details which were simply the information printed in a couple of lines on a little strip of paper, which I thought was a nice idea since it felt like a more casual thing and I wouldn't have forgotten which cosplayer gave it to me by the time I got to a computer. And yes I would call them Contact Cards rather than Business Cards, too ^^ I could have done with some pre-printed details myself for a few people at the last MinamiCon.

This is something I keep meaning to do and keep forgetting to do.

Trading cards for cosplayers XD.

Anyway, besides moo.com is there any other places that you can get good business/contact cards made. Any links would be awesome.

Thank you.

I wonder how plausible doing Top Trumps style cards would be XD

And what would the categories be?
*Most time/money spent on costumes
*Longest changing time
*Most photographers at one time
*Most children scared/impressed (depending on costume)
*Number of doubletakes from the public
*Longest distance travelled to an event
