Hi to everyone!
My name is Robin and I have just joined here although I am not a cos player - apart from anything I am way too old!
My interest here is in photography, and my first experience of cosplay was at the resent LSCC at the Excel Centre

My current interest is in urban photography and photographing people. Discovering Cosplay has added a whole new dimension for me; I am simply not used to photographing total strangers that are so amicable!

I am fascinated by the amount of time and effort people put in to their costumes and achieving the right look. They really get into character, and my challenge as a photographer is to capture that - and enjoy the atmosphere while doing it.

In spite of coming from an older age group, and just a being a photographer, I found a lot of commonality.
I have come to the conclusion that cosplay is not just about dressing up; it is about recreating an image, and that is exactly what I try to do with a camera.

Hello! Welcome aboard!

We spend a lot of time and/or money on these costumes. So when someone (who isn't a horrid old lecher ) asks to take our picture, it's nice to feel the work was appreciated. And if you have an online portfolio its nice to see pics of what it actually looks like in the flesh!

Unless they are in a hurry, exhausted, or eating, most cosplayers respond really well to "Can I take your picture?"

And God said unto John, "Come fourth, and recieve eternal life".
But, John came fifth, and won a toaster.
