Self consious about a cosplay
Ok, so here's the thing, I want to cosplay the Hunter at Kitacon but it's unfinished (as in, doesn't have the fake blood on the hoodie) and I'm worried people wont recognise it if I act in-character. I'm slightly put off of this cosplay because I keep thinking people are going to be wondering what the heck I'm doing crawling around the floor screaming and trying to pounce random unfortunate people. I don't want to make an idiot of myself.
Am I just being silly thinking this? What do you guys think?

Get some face paint (or borrow some off another Kita-goer) and make yourself all grey and dead looking, then I don't think you'll have any problems.

do you have acryllic or matercolour paints?
in stead of buying the fake blood you could mix a really srong watery red and splash it onto the hoodie?
if you've run out of time or money or whatever?

the only strange looks you'll get are from the people who don't know the character.

but that's always going to be an issue at a con. not everyone watches the same anime/films etc or reads the same manga/comics. ^^

Yes, I think you're being silly XD That ind of random stuff goes on at a con all the time- and while it might seem a shame not to be recognised at a convention there are still people who look at and appreciate costumes. If people don't know, and they are genuinely interested, they'll ask you about it! Don't be offended if people do ask you why you're crawling around and pouncing and stuff because they're people who are interested in what you're doing!

At AmeCon I can't remember the amount of times people mistook my Yuuri costume for someone from Bleach. It got annoying after a while (mainly because I don't like Bleach) but it's nothing to feel bad about because as it's been said, not everyone watches the same anime or plays the same games etc. I'd be more worried about the norms calling the cops if you act in character outside of the con building. In the con, you'll be just fine!

If you feel bad at any point, come and stand next to me as my costumes are all revealing enough to slap the embarassment out of any person XD

Trust me, you'll feel fine once you get there and have fun in character if you want. There's always someone worse off than you at a con, it's a given fact ^____^

Why not try rubbing teabags on it or somthing like that to make it look dirty and old?
you might still lack the blood but it'll look alot older and dirty and so on.
