Making headhunter rengar's hair from league of legends
Hello fellow cosplayers! I am making a cosplay of one of my main champions in league of legends - Rengar. But as time progresses, the deadline is getting closer and closer (april, dreamhack) and I have no idea how to make his hair.
Here's a picture of the model - http://i6.minus.com/iVIWLVZL2BJHF.jpg
Here's how far I've gotten - https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc1/t1/1780807_747568621921740_966110150_n.jpg
Yeah it's not very far but I did this for less than a week time. The helmet will be recoloured as it looks like a shiny paper to me rather than something made from metal.

So as you can see from the pictures, his HAIR is long and sturdy-looking. I just dont know how to make it and I really don't want to go too expensive on this one. Buying that much fake hair I believe might go above 50$, and I amn't willing to spend that much. And look how the hair looks like a tail, and it looks heavy. I want to get the exact same look. Can someone help with an idea?

you could make the shape and length in foam and then glue hair or wool or something over it?

A good idea, but it might've led me to a better one. I will go on idea-shopping tomorrow in a shop that popped into my head just now. But yeah, I will try to find such foam, maybe make layers and... grind or burn them? to shape them like a cylinder.

They are dread locks, to make them you can buy roving wool or (merino) felt tops, roll them into sausages, sew them between two J-cloths and felt them in a 50 degree wash in your washing machine.

Or, like sonnet said, you can make them out of foam (like pool noodles) and sculpt then paint them and cover with a layer of felt or fake hair wefts.
