Hello from a first time cosplayer!
Hello everyone!
I'm Chloe and I'm a first-time cosplayer, or at least I will be soon! I've always been interested in cosplay however due to being a full-time student with no time for a job and also coming from a not-so-wealthy family, I've always had the problem of money in my way. But recently, my college week reduced to three days so I'm looking for a job and can hopefully get my first costume done before the Yorkshire Cosplay Con this year!

I'm currently a first year college student living in West Yorkshire (England!) and I'm studying Video Games design. I'd love to be an animator or concept artist or even work on anime or at Disney!

I have a reeeeeally stong interest in the Japanese culture and way of life; including manga, anime, food, clothing and also the language which I'm attempting to learn.

I also love digital art and photography and pretty much just being creative! I also like to talk so feel free to drop me a message - I don't always bite!

- Chloe ♥

Welcome to cosplay island. cosplaying on a tight budget needn't be a handicap in fact it can be a way to get really inventive, top tips for this....

If You Got It. Raid the cupboard and see! that old pair of leggings might have
seen better days but repurpose them, I have often used old stuff
as a bace for armour builds or just for the material.

Free stuff is your friend. Be it cardboard and newspaper from the recycling or
off cuts from business, a lot of stuff is free! As an example I have
never paid for MDF as there is kitchen work top manufacturer
near me that makes temples from it and when the job is don they
throw it out, so after asking very politely I can now take it out the
skip, I have friend who get free plastic and timber this way, it's a
prop building gold mine out there. THE GOLDEN RULE IS ASK
FIRST you can get arrested for theft from a skip, also you don't
know what else might be in there (chemicals and such like)

Charity Shops. Cheep and pact full of weird and wonderful stuff and I'd
recommend becoming a regular as stock changes rapidly, also
don't be afraid to ask for them to keep an eye out for you, it's
paid off for me on servile occasions.

Hope this is of help and look foreword to seeing your work

WELCOME! i totally agree with this... it does force you to get truly creative and inventive and it can have some amazing results!

i am 26 and struggle for time and money. but things like cardboard and paper are brilliant. and also if you want to construct with foam, cheap EVA foam yoga mats from pound shops and discount shops are fairly easy to find and are brilliant for construction!

also, charity shops for fabrics and visit crafty shops for offcuts, samples and other bits and bobs

im working on a rifle at the moment and originally wanted to modify an airsoft weapon but i just realised it was never going to happen - i'd never have the money. but i've started construction from foam, wood, card and paper...and i know it'll be a great compromise!

good luck
