Questions on weapons and props for MCM and London film and con
There has probably been a billion threads on this, I saw one, I just wanted to make my own thread to get the definite answer that I wanted. I just wanted to ask anyone who has experiences with any kind of conventions with weapons, like MCM and London film and con.

I will be going has Jason Voorhees for MCM, now going as Jason, you have got to have the Machete. Now I have a 36 inch Machete, made of lazer cut aluminium plated blade, its a lightweight machete it is solid and it does look real because it is made of aluminium plated materials, so it could feel real. I do not really want to take a cheap plastic Machete, I do want to take screen accurate Machete, as it completes the look.

Now the one reason why I went with this version of Jason? is the holster, which is the main reason. Now I will not be carrying it most of the time, it will be put away in my holster.

has the example here, when the Machete is put away

and what the Machete will look like to people, when its taken out of the holster itself

And the rules I saw from the deadpool guns and swords topic

Wooden and otherwise solid but permitted melee weapons are allowed but must be secured to your person so they cannot be easily drawn or taken from you.

So do they allow people to take these kind of weapons to MCM con and London film and con? As I do not want my con ruined, if they take it from me. And like I say, I do not want to take a cheap plastic Machete to the con

you'll have to take it to the main registrations desk to get it checked over, I'm not sure hun, but I know the power daggers for my MMPR yellow cosplay is needed to be checked even though it's PVC.

Best email them and show them the pics of it. But always remember - if you were to hit someone over the head with it, would it break? if no, then it's not allowed, if yes, then it will be allowed.

The material is solid, but you can break it in half if I put on it, but its still solid. What is their Email? I will contact them to see what they think

that's a good thing if it can break. As long as you state that as well as that you can keep it holstered until pics are taken, then there shouldn't be any reason for you not to take the machete prop.

Yea, I found the email. It would be a shame if I cannot take it, but I will see what they say. I would not try and break it, has its a great piece. Like I say its solid, its not plastic or foam, so that could be a problem
