Help with cosplay skirt
Does anyone know how I can get the skirt on my cosplay to flow out like in the picture? It would have to be comfortable and something I can make myself inexpensively. Thank you

Also can anyone advise me on what fabric I can use to make the skirt? Something cotton-like but nothing too heavy or thick.

I'd suggest an underskirt or petticoat to get it poofy like in the image.

Yes a Petticoat would be good but if it would show through the gap you should just ad netting to the sides and the back attaching it to whatever is underneath.

it looks like you need a bustle

its like a petticoat but it is more for the style in your image

Beautiful idea. Hope any of these suggestions would help... I would suggest a light weight satin fabric - for drape - or a taffeta - you'll get nice stiff pleats. Basically the pattern pieces should be semi-circular, you gather at the sides for the pleats. I'd add some net to the sides & then more at the back to give the bustle effects but keep the front as flat as possible.

Good luck & looking forward to seeing pictures.
