Body tape / Securing method help
Hello!
I'm not sure how to word this too well, but I'm planning on cosplaying Makoto Nanaya's battle outfit from blazblue at MCM May 2014, which has underboob in the design, seen here:

I was wondering if anybody had any advice or methods with bodytape or spirit gum to help secure myself down properly during the day? I've had a look around, but can't find many tutorials on it ^^;
I've cosplayed Halibel before, but didn't cosplay it with underboob and I'd like to try new methods if it works :3
Thank you!

My GF cosplayed in a dress in October that needed securing to boobs.

Unless the top is very structured, tape really won't do a good job of holding fabric to you. Spirit gum might hold you in place, and there's also ProsAid, but it depends on how big/heavy your breasts are. And if the costume is stretchy or allows a fair bit of movement, you'll still have problems.

We ended up using false-nail glue for the worst bits, but this is not recommended, and you might take skin off when undressing.

It's also worth your time running the costume past the event cosplay team (try Granny) to make sure it wont fall foul of the decency guidelines!

Thank you! :3 I'll definitely take that into account! ^^

I've looked into medical grade body tape as well and I'm debating ordering some, as I think I'll need something quite strong. I plan on doing some tests before hand to ensure everything stays in place, and also check to make sure the costume is fine too. If worst comes to worst, I'm going to extend the shirt much further than it does in the reference to cover me completely like I did with my Halibel, and also extend the skirt a little bit too ~

It also makes a big difference depending on whether the join is load-bearing or not.

Holding down a stray bit of fabric can be done with a lighter glue than a panel that is the only thing standing between decent and naked!

Also wondering this as I'm going to be doing Ryuko's Senketsu!
Most likely going to hitch it down/up a tad to cover slightly more for the regulations (omg glad I didn't want to do Junketsu as there's a lot more on show XD)

If you've not seen this panel yet, it might be really helpful to you! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOSuZrORY8w

The cosplayer suggests Top stick amongst other things, which is used to attach lacefronts/ toupees, but apparently works really well on clothes also!
