Cosplay names
So although I can't change my name on here, I'm looking at changing the name of my Facebook cosplay page. I've thought up a few decent names, but to give me some extra inspiration, how did you come up with your cosplay name/screen name?

My most popular cosplay was GLaDOS and I had just gotten the Aperture Science logo tattooed on me so I ended up with Aperture Cosplay on facebook! Just linked in things with my cosplay (:

Send an email/PM to one of the site Admins and they will be able to change your name for you.

My name is based on my surname, Carter, which when written in Japanese is Ka-ta- so basically my name is Mr Carter.

Afireinside are one of my favourite bands (I have a chest piece dedicated to them o.O). Also I had used Afireinsidegirl on other sites so it was easy to remember ^^

I made up a nonsense word using terms for sheep (I was born in the year of the sheep) and silver (I just like silver) as a start point, then messed around with it a bit till it was a unique name. Perhaps not the most meaningful way of doing it, but it worked
Best of luck picking your new name

Our cosplay team name is Shadow Phoenix Cosplay as we both met through World of Warcraft and our first main classes were hunters, so we picked aspects/talents of the class and combined them to make Shadow Phoenix

For mine its three different things. The first part 'gx' is because gx is my favourite version of yu-gi-oh.
The 'girl' simply because I'm a girl and the '93' cause that was the year I was born. Makes it a bit personal but I'm really happy with it.

Well....I like steampunk, which equals clockwork. and the fairy part? Idk. I just really want to be Tinkerbell xD

It was something that's stuck with me since I started playing Super Smash Bros. Melee. I love those Climbers

I've used Bahamut (my favourite dragon from Final Fantasy) as a username ever since I first started using the internet a long time ago. Then one day when my favourite website forum moved and everyone changed their username I followed suit... by adding "Lady" to the front of it so people no longer confused me for a boy!

I've used it ever since

I'm going to start using Diabolik Cosplay, because Diabolik Lovers is one of my favourite anime series that I shall be doing a cosplay from soon. It's also a cool word, I like it. :3

And now the weather...

I chose mine because I'm a big fan of the Metal Gear series. A tsuchinoko is a rare snake that you can catch in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and if you keep one until the end of the game you unlock the Infinite Face Paint bonus item. It also reflects my interest in Japan and I find UMAs ( Unidentified Mysterious Animals ) pretty interesting, too

I was a really big weeaboo when I started cosplay and thought it was really cool to mix English words with Japanese words. I've always liked cats and I wanted something catchy to stick on front and 'Crystal' was the only one that was not taken. I strongly didn't want a number in my username! I think at the time one of my favourite YouTube cover artist was 'SakuraNek0' and I liked the idea of having 'Neko' in the name, so this helped too.

There have been many a times that I've wanted to change my cosplay handle, but TBH so many people know me as that so I can't really be bothered. It's funny how even now people go "Oh, CrystalNeko! I remember you back from the MCM forums!" and I'm like my gosh I haven't been on there in years hahaha.

I think it's a catchy username anyway and I use it everywhere because it's just easier. But I do get like Uni friends asking me why my Twitter has a strange username

As I don't have a specific "cosplay handle" yet, I'll go for the reason behind my general screen name.

While many things over the years have used the name Origin, such as a video game developer, the religion of Stargate SG1's latter antagonists, an American death metal band and, more recently, EA's digital distribution platform, I actually decided to start using the name around a decade ago. The PS2 sequel to Legend Of Legaia had the characters' summonable companions referred to as Origins.

It sounded mysterious and awesome at the time, so I took it. It's pretty much stuck ever since, though in recent years I'm often using either a prefix or suffix in places where the base name's likely to be taken; ChaoticOrigin and OriginAtrocity being the two prime examples. So if you see either of those three, it's likely me.

Actually, you can get your name changed here if you ask Delusional or one of the other CI overlords very nicely via PM.

I believe there was a thread about this before if you have a look back through the (General Discussion?, or maybe here) forum archives or search it.

My badge/screen name is a contraction of my irl nickname. It's a diminutive of a diminutive really, which came from the early 1990's when my wee brother was unable to say my name correctly & my mum changed the lyrics and genders of the Nursey Rhyme Georgie Porgie. Tehcnically I am/should be "Laley Payley Pudding and Pie" or "Layley Pud-Pud". It ended up as "Pudding Pie" when my schoolmates got ahold of it and then got shortened further to "Pudding" not long before my first proper con in 2006 where I knew I'd remember to answer to it if I put in down as my badgename, then it just kinda stuck.

Part of me wants to change it, but it's been with me for 20-odd years and almost 25 conventions/events... It seems more effort than it's worth to change it now. I'd only confuse myself. lol.

EDIT: Oh, also, I am one 5th of Blood/Sugar Cosplay and we picked our team name because we mainly choose (or did at the time, we've expanded our repetoire a bit) to cosplay groups from Horror games/anime (Blood) and kids' cartoons/Disney, etc. (Sugar).

One of my oldest usernames for general internetting was Ellzababoon; just a random variant of my name Ella, but many people found it hard to remember, so then I cycled through many random/unrelated usernames online and eventually decided I wanted something that still linked to my actual name, but was a bit more memorable. Since my first and middle names are Ella May, I thought LMA was quite clever xD It's short and somewhat memorable and it's stuck for most of my cosplay related internetting.

I've always been Queen of the Slayers (total Buffy fanatic haha) but I joined an anime site and went for a really cutesy name, LazorKitteh. And so Lazorkitty Cosplay was born :'

'Sisceal' is Gaelic for 'fairytale', and the name I'm using across the internet now "the starlight fairy" is a combination of that and my love for the stars (as in astronomical bodies rather than celebrities, but they can be cool too).

I don't have a facebook cosplay page yet but it's something I've been considering!

My only two screen names are Stefinix, which is something friends have called me for over a decade now (because my name's Stef), and The Retro Valentine came about this time last year. It's because I'm a retro gamer who is still in love with the 90's. I used the word Valentine instead of lover and voila, I'm a Retro Valentine

**It also associates me to my Youtube channel, Retro Living Games, which is a work in progress

Meganekko is Japanese and means glasses wearing girl, and Jess is my nickname.
