Wolverine Claw Suggestions?
Hello everyone! I plan to do my Wolverine cosplay in Febuary at MCM expo and I was wondering if anyone has any good suggestions for when I make the claws for his character

I know that the props rules for MCM can be strict and I have read on there that it says:
"Wooden and otherwise solid melee weapons (excluding bats and paddles which are banned as noted in the 'Mundane Items' section) are allowed but must be secured to your person so they cannot be easily drawn or taken from you. "

I was thinking of using MDF or Poplar Wood like in this tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZv41GFZ_40

I was just wondering what you all thought on it, or if anyone had any other suggestions or materials I could use to make them.

Thank you everyone and merry Christmas!

heyo me and my friend actually made some for his costume, mdf is ok but the problem with it is the edges they tend to soak up paint and leaves you with furry edges, I personally would recommend Perspex because as long as you sand it well after the primer and top coats they will have a better finish. hope this helps XD

Check my comic wolverine suit, my claws are a mix of the licenced origins claws and black leather gloves simple and very effective!

I used foam core board. You can get big A1 sheets from hobby craft for about £4. I followed this tutorial here but, changed a few things, obviously foam board instead of cardboard also, the end near the knuckles I curved to make it look more like they were popping out of knuckles.

Okay thanks guys! I think I will try the foam board and see how that looks since I can get it after Christmas or something!

Thanks a lot!
