Crossplay question.
Ive cosplayed a few boys in my time, and I'm planning to cosplay the BBC Version of Sherlock Holmes. Now, I'm female and only 5"3.5, 5"4 at a push. Is it okay to wear heeled boots while cosplaying a male? I just wanna be taller for the character xD

I don't see why not as long as it fits in with the costume.

Yes, it is ok.

Although most men's footwear is flat soled, formal shoes tend to have a small heel, and some boots for men (like cowboy boots and Beatle boots) have a larger heel. Short celebs like Elton John and Prince wear shoes and boots with heels too.

It'll only look strange if you wear stilletto boots
(unless you're cosplaying as a member of Sigue Sigue Sputnik!)

Heels are perfectly fine Cosplayers make small alterations all the time to feel better in their costumes and footwear is no different!

I use that method while crossplaying and it always proves more beneficial as the added height makes me more confident about the costume.

As an alternative option you can buy heel raisers which can be slipped inside of a boot to add height whilst leaving the impression of wearing a flat shoe.
