Freckles
I get a lot of freckles during the summer which is a problem when cosplaying characters with no freckles... I've tried using powdered concealer but they still show through a bit. If i use alot it makes my skin tone look really uneven.

Any ideas of what type of eg concealer might work?

I'd use a moisturising concealer. Powder hasn't worked, so liquid concealers will work better and give you a more even appearance when applied with a sponge.

Ooh, if you're trying a liquid, try MAC studio fix! If you go to a MAC counter/store/wateva, they should apply it on you and show you your best matching colour and how to apply (usually with a brush). You don't have to buy, so walk away!! XDD Then you can see how long it lasts and so on before you buy!

I love freckles, I'm jealous!

Does this stuff work on people who have had frekles since they were 5ish? I've got ALOT of freckles all over me XD Can I ask do people get bothered when cosplayers have freckles when cosplaying a non freckly character? (This question only just poped into my head as soon as I read this?)

I have the problem of being completely covered in freckles too! I hate them a lot... When I started cosplaying it did bother me that there's no real way to cover them without looking like you're trowelled on make-up... So I just leave it and go with a normal amount.

I don't think people care in general about it, and if they did, to be honest, it doesn't really make a difference. It's not like you can REALLY get rid of them and no one's ever going to be a perfect likeness of the character anyway.

Also, I find that with the right kind of powder (I use L'Oreal True Match powder, True Match Minerals and tried Bare Minerals foundation which I desperately need more of!) they won't really show up in photo's at all. It scares me to look at some of mine because you can hardly tell that I have freckles at all - I feel it's INCREDIBLY obvious usually because I have such pale skin and my freckles are fairly dark D:

Anyway... I guess what I was trying to say is I don't think you will or SHOULD get called up on it, and that a good powder, IMO, will pretty much hide even the worst freckles on camera!

Miiol is so right - MAC Studio Fix works on EVERYTHING! It is hands down the best foundation, in my opinion. Buildable coverage, extremely long-lasting and they have loads of shades!

Their Studio Finish concealer works very well with the foundation, too, if you want loads of coverage. Ought to hide freckles nicely. Touched up with a translucent powder, a combination of the two ought to last through a whole day.

Good luck!

I have loads of freckles too... They are so annoying when im trying to cosplay as pale characters!

Especially in the summer when they get 10x worse...

I might try some of your makeup tips, when i have enough money!

Man I was just thinking about this today, I get some freckles on my face during summer too, which I ALWAYS forget until summer slaps me in the face! Also to Little geeky I don't think it'd bother other people but it's about how you personally feel; like I think they make my face look dirty (But I think thats how us people who have had freckles for all our life think, other people seem to like them! =P)

Anyway I use liquid foundation and powder. I make a cat face with liquid foundation on my face, like whiskers a bit on my nose and under my eyes, rub it in evenly with both hands. Then apply powder with a brush (following the direction of the hairs on your face) after that dust the excess powder off with another brush. This should cover them fine!

have you tried before adding the make up to use a brightening or shimmer base? they are like a moisturizer which slightly mate out your skin but as they have shimmer in it it tends to brighten your complexion, to hide uneven skim tone, redness freckles and agespots.

once you have that you should add on a thin layer of liquid foundation (dab of foundation on forehead, nose, cheeks and chin and spread evenly) i recommend the No7 products! they cover up really well! and then get your hands on a Translucent powder and a powder brush and brush a layer of powder on 83

i hope this helps

Personally I wouldn't worry too much about trying to cover them as such, concentrate more on evening up the skin tone.

Kaka's advice is what I tend to go for myself (I'm not freckley, but I am covered in moles so suffer similar problems!)

Create a nice even base, then use highlights to contour your face (shiny on the tops of your cheekbones and blush/bronzer underneath) this will give you a great look and hopefully minimise the freckles.

Just don't pile on the makeup with a trowel, or you'll end up with much bigger problems!!!!
