Thigh high query
So I bought some stockings for my Yoko cosplay but unfortunately they're not long enough for me and only go just above my knees! Does anyone know if it would work if I cut a slit in the toes and pulled them up to my ankles to give me more length? I'm not really prepared to buy another pair as I've already spent quite a lot on this costume. Also I can't return them either as I removed the label; should have looked at it more closely because they're meant to be size 4-7 when the label says 4-5 >:C

Depending on what material they're made from if you cut the toes they'll probably just ladder or unravel.. so I really wouldn't recommend that.

Personally I'd just buy a replacement, you can get cheap thigh-highs from eBay, but if you're not keen on replacing them try wearing them around the house and stretch them a little? Just make sure once they've stretched somewhat that you febreze them instead of washing them else they'll shrink all over again. They probably won't go as high as you want them to, but they will stretch further than your knee with extended wear.

It's composed of 78% cotton, 20% nylon and 2% lycra. I hadn't thought that might be case with laddering so cheers for letting me know. I'll try wearing them lots as you suggest, hopefully that'll help. Thanks!

One thing you can try is heavily paint the toe area in clear nail polish, then make a slit within the painted area to stop them from laddering, then paint over the raw edge again just to be safe. As long as your shoes cover your ankles so the foot shape isnt visible on your calf, that might work.
