LOL how uncanny, I'm almost identical. X3 Up untill a couple of months ago I worked in a preschool, I'm currently the deputy of an ASC, and hopefully soon I'll also be working in a primary school as a Teaching Assistant.
Do you keep your cosplay tendancies private? Personally, knowing how alarmist the world seems to be nowadays, I'm not sure that it would be recieved well. =/ Hmm.

I don't keep it private at all ^_^' The kids love seeing the kinds of things I make and I can do things with them that reflect what I'm doing at home (i.e. I was using modroc at home to make Pauldrons, so at school we used modroc on balloons to reconstruct the children's faces!) and it seems to work well!

I do know what you mean though, in the educational world, one wrong piece of information can literally cost you your career! It's kind of scary!

It's really odd that you and I are pretty much doing EXACTLY the same work LOL I'm starting to take on the deputy duties now as a sort of training and I'm waiting to hear back on the TA position. Either way, it'll only last until July (Well, late August as I also work for the Playscheme LOL) before I go on to teaching.

Good luck to us both concerning the TA positions, then! ^__^V (I've just been randomly informed that you were the winner of the Best Male category in the London Naruto launch...is that true? In other words...were you Jiraiya? LOL Because I was one of the Prince of Tennis crew that won the Best Anime category! XD We had photos in Neo, Yay~! Small world, ne?)

I fight crime in a form fitting costume. But only on week days, as my suit is dry clean only so I get it cleaned on weekends. >__>

I'm normally at university sitting through four hour lectures but whenever I'm not, I work full time in a Nursery. Which I do not enjoy, as screaming children are just evil. More so when parents bring them in with contagious diseases and refuse to take them home. XD

And if its not at the nursery, then its helping my dad fix up the house, for which he repays me by getting parts for my weapons from his work should I need them. (He works in a steel factory and any scrap metal or damaged parts there are up for grabs, so he nabs em for me ^^)

I do admit that IF and its a huge IF, I budget accordingly (I make a budget list at the start of each term and stick to it religiously ), I will occasionally use a small amount of my student loan to pay for a few items for cosplay, but not much. Generally I have at least £50 spare after paying for my rent and University related bills, because I'm teetotal and as such, don't spend copious amounts of my loan on getting smashed every night like my friends.
So what little money I do have left will go to my cosplay, as thats sort of my luxury, rather than getting drunk like a lot of the students in my area.

I always feel bad when I mention I use a little of my loan, as people usually think 'Oh rich kid'. Quite the opposite, if I were a rich kid, I'd not have a student loan. And I do work 6 till 6 everyday when not in university. Sorry, attempting to justify why I have a loan has become habit. :S

Also, I used to work at Game. XD
But my Game sucked. Rude staff that didn't do their jobs makes for bad work place. -____-

right now i do whatever job i can get since i'm back in education for a good while.

before that, i was a long term optical technician (9 years, fully qualified). i recently returned to that for a short while, but vision express who i was working for made me redundant because my "standard of quality was too high" (i.e. i cared about things being right). i found it fairly funny at the time, because i always swore i'd never work for VE because their standards are so dire, then when i do work for them they fire me because mine are so high.

..let me guess... they were POISONED by diphenhydramine in their tea? ha ha ha

Me - I'm striking out as a pro artist (painting & sculpture). Ok so I only sold one painting so far.. but when I join the Artists Society (soon) and display in the exhibitions that should improve.
Before all this I used to work for Telecom. But the job sorta died when everything got modernised. And my artistic talents were being wasted, so I bailed. Then I stayed at home bringing up the kids. And now I'm glad I have this opportunity to follow my dream, and that's thanks to my lovely wife who supports us until I become reeeeeeeeeally famous and rich, RICH, RICH, I tells ya! ...ummm... Then we can live by the sea, and I can have a lil boat. ^_^

Thanks. I don't personally get on with modern art at all. I just don't see it.. Dead sharks, unmade beds, piles of banannas, shit (literally) glued onto canvas.. it all has one thing in common - "No skill required"
When I joined the BA art course as a mature student I was complemented for being very skillful. But what they wanted was scrappy messy stuff, so I flunked out after the first year. ..I want to be me.
Sorry, that's a long answer. ^^
Short answer..I LOVE to paint and sculpt (female)dancers. Realistic but not photo-real. I'm a Romantic type of artist. ^_^
If you want to see some of my stuff follow this link, I'm experimenting with the various different mediums - watercolour, acrylics etc
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v289/Stevesmodels/Art/

and my first attempt with sculpture. (self taught)
She's around 12" tall.

your admiration of the female form is an inspiration, I do fashion and art myself and I mainly concentrate on the female form, and there is none so raw a form as the balet danceer. And the artist or art you were talking about *found art* the main exponent or at least the most outrrageouse is Tracy Emming *I threw up a little in my mouth* found art is pathetic when copared to claud monet or Titian people will realise that soon.

I love your work to ^.^ but you linked me before

Some interesting jobs! How do we all find the time to work on cosplay after a hard day at work, I wonder. I'm an orthoptist - the profession few people have ever heard of! I wave things around in front of people's eyes to try and figure out what's wrong with them, and put eyepatches on little kiddies to make them cry. Well, they're not SUPPOSED to cry, but sometimes they just do, till I bribe them with shiny stickers to shut up and do the tests XD

Wow everyone seems to have such interesting work!!

At the minute I study full time at college, commission cosplay costumes, wigs, armour, bits and bobs etc (anything really XD), and I also lead workshops for children with art (which includes manga- yay-). Hopefully after another year of laborious study I will be able to study (more) at University in the wonderful subject of Archaeology!! (The A-level is fascinating!)
