Attaching cotton wool to fabric
Looking at creating a Lakitu costume and trying to build a cloud that he sits on with combination of puffball skirt and tutu. Thinking of covering the skirt in cotton wool to make it more 'cloudy'.

Has anyone had a any experience at attaching cotton wool to fabric? Current plan is to use fabric glue.

Cotton wool is a horrible material towork with (and soaks up glue like... well... cotton wool XD)

Have a look instead at teddybear stuffing. Its the same kind of hollow fibre you get in duvets and is a lot easier to work with. I think you might be able to buy it in sheets as well as loose, but I didn;t have time for a full search this morning

Protip: don't use superglue on cotton wool. It sets it on fire.

I second PandoraCaitiff, wadding or toy stuffing is probably going to be easier to use than cotton wool. It holds together better.

Thanks for the responses.

I like the look of the hollow fibre. I'll experiment and see how it goes.
