New to Cosplay, need Vault Suit advice!
So I just started playing with the idea of Cosplaying, and to challenge myself, I decided I would make a Vault 34 jumpsuit from Fallout New Vegas, problem is I don't know what to make the suit out of, or what type of suit to buy.

Any help would be appreciated, as I have no ungodly clue what to do.

I'll assume you've typed things like "how to make a vault suit" into your favourite search engine

Getting a blue boilersuit from a hardware store would be a good start. Then think about whether you want the yellow stripes and number to be painted on (template and fabric paint) or sewn on (you should be able to get yellow fabric nearly anywhere).

My one (on my costume page) was just a set of blue overalls that I took in a bit to make it fit properly around the waist, back and legs. Most overalls I saw online had poppers so its a good idea to get a long zip to put in instead (do this before fitting the overalls to yourself as putting the zip in will take up some of the slack itself). I personally like how it looks sewing on the stripes but you need to have thick yellow fabric / multiple layers to make sure the blue isn't seen through it, but if youre using fabric paint bw sure to put on lots of coats. I'm getting rid of mine to do a proper one with knee pads and the right pattern sections and can post up rough patterns etc as I go if it'll help, but that would require making a bodysuit from scratch, so the overalls method is probably better if you're new to sewing.

I might try this if I cannot find a good set of Coveralls or a Boiler suit for a good price.
