Help! Wonder Woman Bracers/Bracelets/Forearm Guards
Hi, I need some help on how to make/where to find Wonder Woman's bracelets - next May I'm cosplaying Wonder Woman's design from the DC Bombshells line and I want to get an early start, but I'm having trouble with the bracelets. I can't find a good tutorial online anywhere - I don't know whether I'm just looking in the wrong places or what - and I can't find reasonably-priced plain bracelets in the right shape.

So I tried making bracelets out of craft foam but after I cut them to the right shape and tried them on - with overlapping foam on the inside wrist so I could add velcro and secure them that way (as well as shaping them to my wrists with heat, just for extra hold/strength/seamlessness) and they looked, well, a bit rubbish. I think the foam was too thick? I thought worbla might work but I've never used it before so I'm a bit nervous, and it can be a bit pricey and difficult to find UK sellers (last I saw coscraft was out of stock). I also thought about using clay but the clay I've used hasn't been flexible enough to get on my wrist once baked.

I would try and make some also out of silver fabric (I want them to be as seamless as possible) but the details on the statue look like they could be difficult to achieve with fabric paint although if that's the best way to go obviously I'll try that.

(Also, if anyone has any ideas how I could make her chains, can you give me a shout?)

Has anyone who's made bracelets/bracers like these before got any tips? I'm very new to cosplaying (apart from closet-cosplay) and need all the help I can get! Thank you!

I've seen people use sections of plastic bottles as bracers. You'd need to trim (and sand the sharp edges), but that would hold the shape enough to cover with craft foam.

You could also use Pringles cans covered in craft foam for the bracers.

You can buy lengths of plastic chain in Homebase or B&Q, which can then be spray-painted silver.

Thank you all for the help! I used Pringles cans covered in craft foam because I had them in the house anyway and it's working really well so far! Thank you!

Good to hear that the Pringles can suggestion worked. I was planning on using the idea myself for the Scarecrow’s gauntlet but discovered that the cans were too small for my arms

Maybe the plastic bottle idea might work?

Anyway if you guys are interested here are the finished bracelets! I think they look quite good, couldn't have made them this well without your help so thank you all <3

I love the work on the detailing. That must have taken a lot of patience.

It was a bit of a pain because there aren't many references but it wasn't too difficult because I used marker pen to draw it on but thank you anyway!
