how should I made a sword
I and confused because I can either use EVA but I don't know how to make it rigid or is there something else I could do/use?

What does the sword look like? The way you make it would depend entirely on the design, though I hear foam and worbla do quite well for armour/props.

Generally you can use foam with a core, this tutorial will help. You can replace plastazote in the tutorial for EVA foam and could probably replace the latex and isoflex with PVA glue.

Id agree with Kata-San, I've been using KhaosKreator`s tutorial for my Rapier ^___^ Simple to follow and works a treat!!

just realized that if I use the material I wanted it will not look/behave how I want it to so I am going to make them out of MDF then save up later for larp swords.

ah ok thanks
how about a 6mm MDF core shaped so that the foam narrows at the leading edge and I use 2mm Fab foam with a 2cm leading edge that slowly gets narrower by reducing amount of foam in the edge using 3 strips 2 narrow 1 wide to make the tip taper?
