Ahoy hoy
Sooo, complete first timer to Cosplay here

I've been a LARPer for many years (some of you might know what that is and maybe use larp weapons for props?) I've always enjoyed the costume side of that most and have wanted to give cosplaying a go for some time.
After a lot of putting it off I have finally gotten round to it now!

I'll be going to the London MCM in a couple of weeks, which will be my first con and my first cosplay!

My first costume is Kaito from Vocaloids, Vocaloids cause of the vegetable juice song and than Kaito as I always used to name my character Kite in any games so was drawn to him immediately
Also hoping to get a Sanji cosplay together in time, but cutting it a bit fine now!

Anyways, i'm from just outside London and would love to meet more Cosplayers from around these parts, hopefully i'll see some of you at MCM!

Welcome!

Yeah some of us a current/former/aspiring LARPers. Be mindful of event rules when considering weaponry though. Just because they are LARP-safe, doesn't mean they meet the criteria for cons and expos.

Have fun at MCM, it's huuuuuge

Thanks

I'm looking forward to it a lot!
I have had a look through the weapons rules, although I don't plan on using any this time round, I may do in the future.

I'm also interested to know if people go out after the con anywhere in particular, I see there is a party at the MCM but I've also read its not great?

A lot of people just hang around outside the West entrance of Excel until it gets too cold/dark/wet. There's a few takeaway places (and a Tesco Express) nearby, and if the weather stays OK, it's quite a nice atmosphere. Just avoid the drunken idiots, or you'll get moved on when security or the police are inevitably called

A lot of the nearby hotels have bars that get quite full, same with the bars/restaurants on the walkway from the DLR station.

And if you have an Oyster or travel card, there's always a few people that head into the city for a meal, a film, or to go to the Trocodero.
