The Japanese Art Festival is a new festival happening on 28th February and 1st March in Richmond, which combines manga and anime with traditional Japanese culture.
Anime and manga-related events include manga workshops, anime & J-drama screenings, a cosplay masquerade and anime dealers room, as well a plethora of manga artists exhibiting their work.
In addition, there will be numerous cultural activities to take part in, including traditional music and calligraphy, kimono demonstrations and martial arts displays.
Guest speakers include UK artist Sonia Leong, Japanese culture expert Akemi Solloway, and manga experts Helen McCarthy and Paul Gravett.
But best of all, entry to the festival is completely FREE!
The only ticketed event is a J-pop Disco on the Saturday night, organised by J-Pop Go! Tickets are £4 in advance.
There are still some places available for those who wish to participate, either by displaying their artwork or taking part as a volunteer steward. If you would like to be involved, please email
