Hey thought I'd join in. I'm only 20 and have a face of a 12 year old yet I am stupidly mature for my age and find that I tend to talk to the older cosplayers.

Also being older isn't a bad thing. There is so many coplays I want to do but my face isn't mature enough for it yet

It's funny you should mention this 'how old you are/how old you look thing' I feel really in-between! I think I look too old for young characters and too young for the old ones lol

I understand! sometimes i'll go to cosplay a character and think "why do i suddenly look so old?!" or "why do i suddenly look so young!?"

I'm 29, turning 30 in July. It'funny I've literally just got back from a friends and he said he this was his last year going to festivals because he's too old. People put too much emphasis on age in my opinion.

I've just turned 30 and only just got into cosplay, only as old as you feel!

Hey kiddies (I was born in the 70s!)

Yeah, there's a few of us oldies about. I've found that experience is useful for cosplaying, so that's something we have to offer the younger generation. I'm also now too old to care about whether my hobby is "cool" or "sad". I'm going to cosplay regardless of what my friends, family or work colleagues think.

(although for the record my family is pretty cool with it )

I found I was most worried about my age around 27-28 when I still felt young but couldn't ignore 30 creeping up. Alot of my friends are turning 30 this year and alot of them seem to be worried by it but I agree with what you say, I'm pretty much beyond caring how people may judge me all the time I'm enjoying life and not hurting anyone else by doing it, so what? I see none of my hobbies as any different to how fanatical some people are about football.
One of my friends who cosplays is in her early 30's and as she says, she learned a fair but now that in some ways would make stopping because of her age a real shame.
And at the end of the day age is just a number.
