Cosplay Crossover Question
I'm supposed to be cosplaying Captain America this Sunday for Wales Comic Con. But the jacket part of my suit is a piece of crap. It's too thick and too loose so when I put the belt on, it just scrunches up and makes me look bigger around the belly.

So instead I was thinking of doing a Rescue (From TFA) / Modern Cap crossover. So basically the blue top with the star on underneath a brown jacket but with a round shield. I also will be wearing the blue trousers with red boots.

I don't have a Rescue-Style helmet so I was just gona go without one.

Would this work and be 'okay' in Con terms to do?

You can always do slightly different versions of a character. In this case I think its still easy to tell who you're supposed to be.

I'd say don't worry about it personally! You can always edit a costume for future cons, just go and have fun (that's my advice anyway )

Nevermind. I sorted the original problem out. I sewed the belt onto the jacket. So now I'm doing Avengers Assemble Cap.

Pretty much this. My advice would usually be to work with what you have right now and make the best of it. Glad to see you've fixed the problem though! It's good to see someone cosplaying Cap without using the tiny toy shield most shops sell.
