Elven ears
Hey everyone,

So I need long pointy Elven type ears for my Alundra costume. What in everyone's experience is the best option for achieving this look?

I've considered buying a pair, but having never used any before I've no idea how they attach or how well they stay on (especially with a big wig on as well) if at all. Any word on this from someone more experienced than I would be much appreciated!

Usually they would attach with spirit gum. I've not used them before myself but I want to for a future costume, so I'd like to see other people's replies too!

I've bought some before (a set for myself and one for my fiancé) in two different lengths, his were considerably longer. They arrived with little one-use tubes with latex inside which dries clear. It was a pain to get out and didn't feel too liquidy and rather dried up so I'd recommend getting your own liquid latex or go with spirit gum, the latter I have no experience with.
We managed to get a few dabs out despite this and they stayed on for the whole day, I didnt even remember that I was wearing them half of the time.

One other point is that you may have to use make up on them if they turn out to be a noticeably different skin tone to yourself, so try to shop to cater to yourself. If not foundation and powders can help blend it in where the ear meets your own. whatever wig you wear isnt usually a problem as mine had rather large waves and I just had my other half help me get a natural parting for my ears to poke through.

It can be a bit tricky getting the ears on yourself so practice first or get a friend to help you

I bought some for my Link cosplay from ebay, pretty cheap too, unfortunately I have really small ear so cutting them down and spirit gum didn't keep them on so I have to use hair pins. Very painful xD
But my partner uses spirit gum for her ears all the time ^^

Thanks for the replies! I'm going to give Spirit Gum a try. Looked at a few vids on Youtube and it looks like it might be just what I need.

I noticed this as soon as I got my ears. I'm experimenting with make up now. And getting them on is a real pain! Thankfully, I have someone to help out with that. Thanks for the advice!
