| First worn at London Expo, May 2007 and was updated for Amecon 2010. Edea is initially presented as a power-hungry sorceress who seizes control of Galbadia from President Deling. Her motives are unknown, but SeeD is dispatched to assassinate her. Edea is also the wife of Headmaster Cid, and was known as "Matron" to Squall and his friends during the time when they lived with her at the orphanage. It is eventually revealed that Edea was possessed by a sorceress from the future named Ultimecia. When Ultimecia's control is broken, Edea takes the side of the SeeDs in the struggle and joins the party for a short time. However, she accidentally gives her powers to Rinoa, making her a sorceress. Being a sorceress, Edea attacks with magical bursts of energy and her Limit Break, Ice Strike, consists of a magically conjured icicle, hurled like a javelin. This Limit Break is depicted in a cutscene during her coronation as head of Galbadia when Ultimecia commands Edea's body to pierce Squall with it. Edea is one of three character concepts, to have been created before Final Fantasy VIII. Nomura had designed Edea before the development of Final Fantasy VII, based on the style of Yoshitaka Amano. | |

Visor 8 (Posted 24th June 2010) Extended the black design with a permanent pen over the red paint and added some more sheer black fabric near the top to complete the design (one side complete here). |

Visor 6 (Posted 22nd June 2010) I masked out the black design ready for spray painting. |

Visor 5 (Posted 22nd June 2010) I used a heat gun again to help get more of a curve in the visor before spray painting the foam a darker metallic red. |

Visor 4 (Posted 22nd June 2010) Before spray painting the foam I heat formed it a little more into shape. I fixed a small piece of wonder flex to the underside near the top of the visor to help keep the shape of the small flat triangle that's seen in the ref screenshots. |

Visor 3 (Posted 17th June 2010) Finished adding the sheer fabric on both sides, next will be to mask out the black pattern and spray paint the foam a darker metallic red. |

Visor 2 (Posted 13th June 2010) This time around I cut out the simple design on the sides of the visor and glued some sheer black fabric in place so that I'll have some form of vison if only for photos. The fabric had to be lightweight since I didnt want it to distort the shape of the foam once it was glued into place. |

Visor 1 (Posted 13th June 2010) Decided to attempt her red visor again for Amecon. I designed a stencil using the few ref screen shots available and measured it around the headdress to test how it would fit. I cut the shape out in thin A3 sized plastazote and I tested a piece first to see if the shape of the visor could be easily moulded into the correct shape with a heat gun. |

Oh yes I did see you in the masquerade queue, just didnt realise it was you. We were saying how your Edea looked Fab, and that your ornate backpiece was so successfull, it looked lightweight but not flimsey. It was great to see in real life. Next time I will have to chat with ya. :)
