Brainstorm ARGH! (Posted 9th June 2009) So so many ideas going around in my head for this cosplay at the moment. If I can pull this off I'm thinking it will look pretty epic! So far I've managed to break down into five main parts. Feel free to comment/ suggest etc etc all further ideas are welcome! -Overall Skin: Stone Grey/ Pale blue Zentai suit. Will have the face cut out of it only, then I won't even have to worry about stuffing all my hair inside a wigcap for it and the only make up I will have to do will be my face. Planning to airbrush paint dark blue vein detail onto it. Need to get a manakin to work on this properly. Other details inc. nipple detail to be made separately and stitched/glued on. I am told that lycra/spandex is hard to deal with but I will perservere! Protuding details such as surgical/ electrical tubing, tentacles highlighted below (expect updates when I figure out how/what to do!) -3 x Red Tentacles: Waistband to equip prior to skin-suit? Will be made out of pleather/pvc, stuffed with foam and a pipe-cleanerish skeleton so that they can be positioned. 1 larger at the front to protude from the lower part of the belly, 2 smaller at the backsides adjacent with the tops of the hips. To be made into a waistband which which then have the tentacles pulled through holes in the zentai suit. This will (in my opinion) make it look more realistic. -Headpiece/Helmet/Wig: This is by far the most important part of this cosplay to get right! The base of the headdress will be a cycle helmet with plastic casing/ straps removed so that it can be added to. The holes in a cycle helmet not only provide a few points at which dreadlocked bit of wig can be pulled through but might help to keep me a little cooler too! Then it's down to what to use to add the detail to them helmet. I'm thinking of chickenwire/paper mache/ paper pulp as suggested in http://www.cosplayisland.com/tutorials/headdress to work with modifying this! Metal name plate on the front to be carefully engraved into a metal piece with dates detail (here we come FAQ sites!). Wig will be brand new from cosworx, trimmed and will dreadlock a few strands also. Thankfully, unlike with Sephiroth it's not a high priority to have a shining de-tangled silver wig so this will be more of a relief. -"Broken Wings": From studying several fan-arts/ concept pictures/ other people's cosplay Jenova itself has what my boyf described as broken wings protuding from it's back. Plan to emulate this by modifying a set of wire-pixie wings which I bought for Haloween once and never to this date have used! The shape needs to be re-crafted and (as with the tentacles) the plan is to make out of red pleather and stuff with foam. Make Up: Only thoughts on this so far is face-paint coloured to match the skin suit, possibly with fake eyelashes/ eyebrows in glittery blue. |
