| I'm a huge fan of the Resident Evil series, so at some point, cosplaying Claire was inevitable, as shes my favorite character by far. I actually played the game when I was about twelve maybe? Which is bad considering its an eighteen, but I'm not scared easily so its all good. XD (Just for the record, my parents did not give me 18+ games etc, RE2 was my older cousin's and I borrowed it hehe.) Even though I've played all the RE games, I don't think I like anyone in them as much as Claire and Chris to be honest. I like the other characters, but Claire and Chris are my favorites. :D I've wanted to cosplay Claire for a good long while, but never been confident enough to do so because she's in shorts and I have awful awful legs. XD But I've bit the bullet and decided to start making her, as I'm certainly not improving with age, so muh legs aren't going to get any better soon! :3 I've only been messing around with denim fabric and the transfer on her jacket so far. I bought two types of the same denim, purely for experimentation. :P First I tried dip dying blue denim, which ended up badly...I'm not sure why I thought it was a good idea. :P Then I tried dip dying white denim which has worked out tonnes better. I thought it best to dye my own fabric then I can get the right shade of pink that I wanted. As for the transfer on her jacket...Why did I think a gelatin sheet would work for this? WHY!? I have noooo idea. I just drew on it with pens and was like 'I wonder if I cut it out and lay it on fabric then wet and seal it, if it would make a good transfer.' NO. It did not. ;__; I mourn your passing weird gelatin transfer. I'm going to try and find some sort of transfer webbing maybe? Does something like that even exist? If not then people are suggesting that I go to a t-shirt shop and get them to add the design. D8 Hopefully I'll get Ms.Redfield done by October, as a few of my friends say they might cosplay Resident Evil characters as well. :D Also, when my camera is found (Thanks for losing it dad XD) I shall take pictures and post my failing Claire cosplay. Feel free to laugh when I do! :P | |

Great looking Claire cosplay. You really must stop beating yourself up, sweetie. All I see is a normal girl - your butt isn't supersized and your legs are not 'awfull awfull'. You are a very attractive girl - just start believing it. ^_^
Now I got that off my chest :) I wanted to ask about your pinup girl motiff on the back of your costume.. so the gelatine idea thing did not work but you managed to do it somehow, so how did you do it in the end?

For the transfer I got something called t-shirt transfer paper from HP. (http://www.morecomputers.com/extra.asp?pn=c6050a) You load it up into your printer and simply print the desing out on it, then you can either iron the whole sheet on if you wish, or cut around your design and iron that on. :)
Ah. I thought that might be how you did it. So you already know about T-shirt transfer paper..
I hope your colour stays fast beter than mine. Just to warn you..I did a T-shirt transfer and after about three washes the colour is almost gone completely from mine now. Maybe I washed it too hot or something, but yeah the picture has kinda vanished. :(
Eek, i've washed mine and it was on a very cool wash, though I have noticed the edges are coming off ever so slightly, but I shall watch out for it fading D8
