I wondered how long it would take before you planned a WD cosplay! Looking forward to seeing her :).

Journal

New belt (Posted 1st September 2015)

New belt for Maggie Greene, buckle is much better.

Her actual belt they sell on the left and the one I remade twice over on the right - I didn't do too badly!

Wig styled (Posted 20th May 2015)

As I can't use my real hair style anymore, I bought a wig.
Using old straighteners I took the wave out of a crimped wig, trimmed it and spritzed it with baby oil to make it greasy and looking unwashed.

Update - props (Posted 20th May 2015)

Cheap airsoft stand in for Remington 870. Painted up and aged slightly. Will be using a cap on the end around the con. Will also be used for Claire Redfield/future Resi cosplays!

Update - holster (Posted 20th May 2015)

Remade holster/belts from scratch, weathered and aged. Also made a sheath for a training knife I wanted to carry on me as an extra prop. I'll slide the smaller one into my boot.

Update - clothing/proips (Posted 20th May 2015)

Cut the jumper into a drop hem which I can tie to the side, creating the pulled fibres it has there.
Made a sheath that fits the training knife I have by using the brown one as a template.
Also pegs are useful to hold whilst the glue sets.

Update - holster/belt (Posted 20th May 2015)

Various things I use to weather props: Ben Nye powders go a long way (ideal to have black/brown shades).
Metal files and sandpaper for scratches and scuffs.
Talc powder removes the shine on new boots and leather.
I recycled some old buckles/belt straps and the studs for the holster, mixing and matching pieces - like the characters have scavaged in the show.
Added the strap through the main holster section to hold a pistol mag and an old leather holster I found that will be added to the front.
Remade main belt as this one looked less new and the buckle was larger than my previous one. Added all of the eyelets and cord again!

Update - clothing (Posted 20th May 2015)

Updated clothing for Maggie Greene. Torn and weathered jeans were resued from the earlier versions I did.
Added the vest and jumper, weathered and stained with spray dry oil (used on the show).
Bought a new cheap pair of boots (previous ones were too nice to ruin and also too warm to wear in summer). Aged these a lot and added red laces and brown buckle straps around the tops.

Ring (Posted 21st May 2014)

Cheap cocktail ring - bling!

Parang sheath, belt and leg holster (Posted 21st May 2014)

Using the prop as a template I made a sheath from faux leather, used a single piece folded over and stitched down the side, leaving the top open. Added webbing strap, belt loop and stud detail.
Belt was modified and rivets and cord were added.
Modified a holster, swapping in leather leg straps.

Parang (Posted 21st May 2014)

This was a commission, I've added blood/weathering detail.

Progress (Posted 20th May 2014)

Full outfit, minus the blood/dirt to be added on the day.

Sign (Posted 6th May 2014)

Needed something to make me more identifiable, so made a sign.
