| Fai is my number one favourite character, and so I knew he deserved a cosplay. Of course he's number 1 on the bishie list too! X3 His Celes outfit was the first because that is the first you see him in and also one of my favourites. Originally I planned to make his blue undercoat, but stupidly made the white one first not leaving enough room for the 2nd coat D'oh. I plan to remake this all one day completely, so I'll have the blue coat too! I first started on the staff as I love props. Im pleased with this, though I little bit shorter than I would of liked. After finishing this I moved onto the over coat... I don't like using patterns, and normally I'll just cut, sew and hope things go alright. With Fai's coat nothing changed, I double layers white with blue inside to give a more frosty feel, then using the same fabric which lined the coat I cut, pinned, used clear fabric paint to line all of the pattern then eventually...Hand sewn it ALL down. I love hand sewing though so I was happy :D Next was the tail coat. Being slightly picky, perfectionist and all I re made this 4 times....Yeah >_< Some were due to error, and such. I'm not going into detail, lol. But the last tailcoat I was pleased with, with the fimo broaches painted gold stuck+sewn one it looked pretty snazzy :D The gloves were easier than expected, it took a while because I hand sewn them, but they turned out okay. The wig was ordered from Ebay from my friend, thank you Gwennie *hugs* And thats Fai finished! I plan to make the 'pimp'/'admiral' version of Fai next. Then many more of his outfits. I've never been able to understand why people make lots of outfits from the same character...But now I do! :D Well thats this costume retired, I wont wear it again. Maybe one day I'll remake it all. As of today I got some pictures while it still remains sunny...Wet grass gives Fai a soggy butt D< Photo credit to Dad who couldn't be bothered for photo time lol. | |
