Ariel for Iconic Legion

Costume Information

Cost : £80
Time Taken : 10 hours

This costume was one of my cheapest but still a pain. The fabric with all the sequins was just HORRID to work with no matter how pretty it may look. I also couldn't walk in it so ended up in a wheelchair for the day. Coincidentally I was struggling to walk that weekend because of my arthritis so it was nice to just be able to sit and flip my fins.

The shells were made by the WONDERFUL people at 4th Wall Design and are glittery and amazing. They are attached to my flesh with prosaide prosthetic glue. This isn't the smartest plan I'll confess, but I didn't want to be wearing a bra that would potentially squish me and cause odd bulges. Removing the glue is a pain though so I'm not sure I recommend it!!

I have plans to get a new wig for Ariel. Mostly I wear her for charity events now. :)

wow this is an amazing tail version and love your glue idea, but not sure I would want to go through that. Did you see Sierra Boggess Broadway costume, she was wearing one of the see through mesh tops that the shells were attached to, then there was a strap on each end that connected at the back. I don't know though where these theatre company's buy that skin mesh stuff, it's very clever.
Well done by the way excellent.
