| [Part of the Team [foam] K-on-Don't say lazy group at Fuyucon! 09] I love Yui so much! Gwuaah <3 -Finally finished this! My second made from scratch costume <3-dies- Mum helped out a whole lot XD <3 you mum! Can't wait to wear this~! Fff~ This is the second costume I’ve made from scratch (with a bunch of help from my mum, I’m so sorry I’m such a bother! T-T) -Dress- I had recently bought a bunch of white material so I didn’t need to go out again for new stuff; we took the pattern from my old High school prom dress and went from there. The ruffles just black fabric (donated by Sarah <3) I’m thinking about adding some lace...just to be a little fancier...but I’m not sure. The three dot things on the bust part are just three little buttons, with tiny diamond like stones in the middle <3 And the straps are a bunch of wooden beads I bought from Hobby craft and painted with three coats T-T, the blue-ish tint...then a shimmer then the varnish...they took forever! But I couldn’t find anywhere that did big enough beads in the colour I needed! The trouble is they do roll off my shoulders a little ,and make the dress a lot heavier lol...though that's not really a problem once i'm wearing it ^-^' -Shoes- My first pair of High heeled shoes, I’m slowly getting the hang of them, but if you see a Yui in a heap on the floor, yup..., that'd be me ^-^'. They’re just a pair of white heels I found on eBay, at first I wasn’t sure about the strap across the front, but it was a perfect place to put the ball things onto. The balls are paper mache polystyrene balls, painted with four different layers of paint, the plum colour, then a shimmer, then glitter...then varnish ._.' I think they turned out pretty well ^-^' -Hair Clip- The ball things for this were made the same way as the ones on the shoes, except with bigger Polystyrene balls. I then just made the rest of the clip out of spare fabric I had left over from previous projects, added some bits here and there -glitter of course- and stuck it onto a clip, then slides into the wig netting and doesn't come out ~! Beads~ (Posted 15th June 2009) I've been painting the beads for the dress straps like crazy ._. and i still have atleast 20-30 more to do once i buy them (trip to Hobbycraft please~!) |

how did you make the bead straps? did you buy a bead neclace and fixed em on the dress?
