It's just an excuse to have trousers ripped enough to show off his leg...

"my fucking god i jaw dropped at that chest then i was like WHAT THE HELL ISNT TAB A GIRL LMAO, lmao 6 packs suits you tab lol"

I'm trans. Man, I'm starting to wonder how often I'm going to have to say that. I figured setting my profile to male would be a bit of a clue, but no one seems to be getting it. Not picking at you ryaoki it's just all I seem to be saying recently is "I'm trans. I'm trans. I am trans."

So yeah, I did the chest because I was fed up with having to cover up my chest for costumes. Top surgery for me isn't for a couple of years and I didn't want to wait that long to be able to do shirtless male costumes.

"ha ha ha, instant 6 pack manhood. Tab...but that's Cheating!!!

I totally could, it's just the same method. But in general you have to use different materials because it's a more sensitive area.

Plus, explaining to my mum why I'm sculpting myself a penis in the kitchen.

ha ha ha ha ..of course I was kidding. Although actually I believe you are one of a few who could really do it, you're such a construction genius. Hmmm sculpting a penis in the kitchen...I'm guessing it would take her perhaps 2 seconds to figure out it was some kind of krazy costume 'accessory'. :P Mums know us better than we think.

Srsly though your idea of using the hot melt vinyl stuff has inspired me. I used it before for making small moulds. But the idea of using it as material to cast body prosthetics out of didn't occurr to me. It's such a good cheap alternative to silicone rubber compounds. And less toxic too.

Is there a special way of colouring it to get a flesh tone? (the stuff I used came in a mustard yellow colour)

The stuff I used was a pretty fleshy colour to begin with though I added some pressed powder in my skin tone (which is the palest that super drug does) then some flocking. More detail is on my livejournal post: http://khaoskomix.livejournal.com/108559.html#cutid1

The remeltable PVC compound comes from Trylon. The ordering system is weird because it has to be paid over the phone, but prices are good and shipping is fast. I ordered some monday and it came wednesday.

Also, everyone else, thank you for your kind comments!

Leg progress (Posted 10th August 2009)

Finished this yesterday but hadn't uploaded it yet. Now onto the painting!

Arm progress (Posted 9th August 2009)

The arm is underway now. 5 days till Ayacon!

Prosthetic chest oh Yes? Part 2 (Posted 14th June 2009)

The prosthetic chest works. Some issues with blending at the sides, but all in all looking pretty good. I'm so glad I haven't had to wait to get top surgery to do this. First step to man hood complete!

Prosthetic chest oh Yes! (Posted 14th June 2009)

Did the chest stuff today. All the info is on my livejournal as I CBA to enter it all in here.

http://khaoskomix.livejournal.com/108559.html#cutid1

Coat (Posted 13th June 2009)

Coat is done! Made from scratch from a dark red wool and basic lining. Pattern made by me and design made to look huge so I look even smaller in it. The back's applique and made me swear a lot.

I now need to iron the crap out of it.

Belt! (Posted 13th June 2009)

Belt is done! I made it from scratch using my half a cow. Hurt my hands a bit because it was really heavy duty but totally worth it to have my accurate hand made belt.

COAT (Posted 11th June 2009)

Appliquing the fabric for the back of the coat. It's going quite well except for me swearing a lot. The fabric is just... perfect. I'm in love, and it's a wool blend.

Chest cast and sculpt (Posted 7th June 2009)

Done a chest cast of myself and a sculpt on top of it. Looking good so far, can't wait to get my prosthetics in.

Watch (Posted 5th June 2009)

My fabric isn't here and I can't start on the chest cast yet, so I'm doing the watch. Carving something that small is super hard, let me tell you.

I made the inside look fully accurate but managed to break the watch movement in the process. Sad Tab have non working watch now.

Oh well, I'll probably steal another one at a later date and put it in there. Working replica Ed watch? Awesome.

Suitcase! (Posted 4th June 2009)

I always have problems with costumes not having pockets. So with ed I was like "HA, I can use a suitcase!" So I bought one, and it arrived today. I totally love it and wish I could take it with me everywhere. This will get good use in mine and Xae's performance at Ayacon.

Planning (Posted 3rd June 2009)

Okay, so I plan things out a lot. I decided with Ed and Seigfried that I'd share the process of making it a bit more than with my other stuff. This is me planning how I'm going to construct the mould boxes for each peice that needs a prosthetic. That's chest, entire arm and leg up to thigh. Arms and hands are stupidly difficult so I need to be careful.
