|I haven't completed Twilight Princess yet, but I fell in love with this Zelda design - she's so much more mature, and the armour... wow. |
It's going to be a lot of hard work, but I hope to get this done in time for May 2014. It'll be the first Cosplay where everything is either modified or made entirely by me, so I'm really looking forward to it!
Baby Steps (Posted 15th November 2013)
So today I ordered a few bits and bobs to get this Cosplay started.
The makeup I got was from Superdrug, purely because their online store has a lot more colours available compared to others. Zelda is pretty barefaced, with a little bit of black eyeliner to define the eyelashes, so it looks pretty simple. (she says).
The Elf ears are the Small Anime ears from ArdaniCostumes.com. I saw these recommended by Deviantart user Akuriko, and the store ships worldwide pretty cheaply. They look really awesome!
I decided to buy two matching wigs from Cosplay.com (Style Ivy in the colour Medium Brown.) Their wigs are really good quality - the colouring is actually a combination of colours, so it looks more natural. The Medium Brown colour has very slight blonde highlights in it, which match Zelda's perfectly. However, the wigs are thin so i'll have to weft one to the other.
Finally, I ordered the materials I need to start the pauldrons, most of which has been ordered from Hobbycraft. I had to order things like spray paint and Modge Podge on Amazon.
Now all I can do is sit back and wait for things to arrive (and watch my bank balance slowly crawl to 0...thank God for Student Finance.)
